Investigation Discovery’s (ID) all-new series DEAD SILENT shows just how dark and desolate the great outdoors can be when no one can reach you. In the six-part series premiering Tuesday, October 25 at 9/8c, myth, urban legend, and horror movie dread collide to showcase real-life, dark and twisted tales too frightening to be imaginary.
Each hour-long episode of DEAD SILENT features one spine-tingling and terrifying true story, interwoven with expert commentary from local authorities, true-crime experts, and psychologists, as well as first-person accounts from many of the victims who survived these nightmarish events.
In the premiere episode titled “The Curse of Dismal Creek,” 33-year-old Sean Farmer is on his way to meet his friend Scott Johnston at a campsite deep in the woods of Virginia. With plans to fish along the remote banks of Dismal Creek, the friends are unaware of the dark past that haunts these surroundings. In 1981, two young hikers were murdered by a stranger they met along the nearby Appalachian Trail. Decades later, as Sean starts to set up camp near that same spot, a mysterious man appears… is the tragic history of Dismal Creek doomed to repeat itself? Or can Sean find the will to survive?
