It looks like Designated Survivor will live to see another day. ABC has renewed the dramatic TV show for a second season.
The political drama follows Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland), a lower-level Cabinet member, who ends up becoming the President of the United States after a major attack on the nation’s capital. The cast also includes Natascha McElhone, Adan Canto, Italia Ricci, LaMonica Garrett, Tanner Buchanan, Kal Penn, and Maggie Q.
Designated Survivor debuted in September to a strong rating of 2.24 in the 18-49 demo and 10.04 million viewers. And while the ratings have dropped over the course of its first season, the show is still a positive performer for ABC. So far, season one is averaging a 1.26 rating in the 18-49 demo and 5.88 million viewers, making it one of the network’s top-10 series for the 2016-2017 season.

Great show. I love watching intelligent government leaders. We get so little chance anymore.
I can’t wait for the second season. Mr Sutherland is fantastic. I never thought he could do better than Jack Bauer, but as POTUS he is awesome.
So please to know its continuing as this has kept me on edge the whole time and looking forward to each show.

I am happy to see this show renewed. I enjoyed the first season, this show gives the ppl a little bit of hope,even if it is only a tv show, that there could be an honest political figure in Washington.
Glad to see Designated Survivor has been renewed. I enjoyed the first season. Too many shows I like end up being canceled after the first season. It seems like only reality shows are the most popular. Actually I don’t care for reality I live it. I enjoy a good story that has some truth in it and some suspense. I do enjoy a good spy thriller.

I am very happy that this show will return with a second season. I for one can not wait to see how “Kirkman” continues to contradict the negative opinions and doubts those around him. Well written and executed script.
