Doubt fans don’t need to be worried about a cliffhanger. Recently, co-creator Joan Rater revealed the central case of the new CBS series will be resolved by the end of season one, E! reports.
The legal drama stars Katherine Heigl as Sadie Ellis, a brilliant attorney who starts to fall for her charismatic client, a surgeon (Steven Pasquale) accused of murdering his girlfriend. The cast also includes Dulé Hill, Laverne Cox, Elliot Gould, and Dreama Walker.
Rater told reporters the mystery surrounding Billy Brennan’s (Pasquale) guilt will be revealed:
You’re going to know whether or not he’s guilty or innocent. So, here’s what was interesting to us: The idea that you’re a guy who’s accused of something and arrested and you didn’t do it—from your point of view. And you’re stuck in jail—he was stuck in jail for four months—and his lifeline was Sadie. And they developed this deep friendship, this relationship that went beyond attorney-client, and that’s a line, do you know what I mean…and I’m like, what if the line is blurred? What if? All those ‘What if?’s came to play.”
Doubt premiered yesterday, February 15th, to somewhat poor ratings. The series debut earned only a .8 rating in the 18-49 demo and 5.290 million viewers — all low numbers for CBS.

Doubt is a favorite of mine…love the shows storyline and the characters…Dule Hill, Laverne Cox, and Katherine Hiegle are all-stars…hope the show somehow has a 2nd season, whether on CBS or on a different network….HATE TO SEE THE SHOW GO!!!!!
Please keep this show going with season 2! Love all the characters not many good shows on now would hate to lose this one.

I loved this show, better than most on tv now. It was cancelled way too soon. Would love it to come back.
I really like this show and I think they rushed to judgment in cancelling it. I am happy that the remaining episodes are now being aired.

It truly would be nice if executives would give a series a chance. If you’re going to put a series on the day after Valentine’s Day and the following weekend a three-day weekend… You were never planning on giving it a chance anyway. Everyone’s always looking for the next best thing but sometimes it’s a sleeper that takes a couple of weeks to catch on or for someone to be home to watch it… Patience is something no one has anymore…My view as is many others view… If you paid for the episodes then let the episodes air.. give TV… Read more »

I did try to find out if Doubt was moved to another day it[r time, but could not find it, asked a friend that was watching it also, we could not figure out what happened. I do not think 2 episodes gave it a decent chance. I see other shows on CBS that I think are cruddy and they remain on, so?
I lined the two episodes that I watched, maybe ratings were low due to something political going on,
I’m really sick and tired of the Networks getting us started on a new show and not giving it a chance ! 2 episodes ! Really ! Try another time slot ! It really makes me angry enough to quit watching the Networks altogether ! We invest our time watching and you just pull the rug out from under us !! I really love this show ! enjoyed DOUBT – good acting – seasoned actors – would appreciate knowing if guilty or not guilty – should have been permitted more than 2 episodes – unfair to those getting interested
