TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Forever was the best. Please bring it back.
I am sooo disappointed to hear that Forever has been cancelled> Nooooo.. Whyyy>> I finally got caught up on all the episodes and I loved the finale however I didn’t know that it was the series finale.
I loved Forever!! It was different than all of the other drama cop shows out there. It had humor and mystery. They really should not have cancelled with so much left hanging!!!!! Boo! Too bad the suits decided to ax it instead of allowing it to gain it’s natural momentum. I’m hoping Netflix or TNT picks it up and runs it in for a touchdown!!! ABC keeps trash shows on its network, but then cancels quality shows like this one.
I looked forward to Forever every week. Give shows like this a chance to get momentum. You can’t expect a whole series with multiple back stories to completely unfold in one episode. You need time to learn the characters etc. So disappointed it was cancelled along with other favorites. It had a wonderful group of actors that all had chemistry on screen. That’s rare.
This was a great show about Henry Morgan and his best friend Abe who was really his son but playing his father figure. they never even got to the plots what happened to him, would Joe his partner ever find out or would they confess their feelings for each other. they should bring it back for a second season or another channel should pick it up.
I loved this show! It was original and had a terrific cast. I really wish ABC would have renewed it for a second season and given it a chance. Very disappointed.
i loved this show it had alot of potential and great actors
Me and my husband loved it.
i thought it was a great show and i wished they would have given it a longer chance to succeed.
I really liked the show and was looking forward to a 2nd season. I think they should have at least gave it another season. I think networks are too quick to cancel shows. I am at the point that I don’t want to vest my time watching new series because I have had too many shows I liked cancelled after only one season.
The reason why my DVD collection keeps growing is the odd time I get interested in a TV show, they go ahead and cancel it!!
I really liked this show and was trying to find out when it would be on again. Didn’t know it was cancelled but sure wish they would bring it back!
Whenever there is a tv show that is interesting, it gets cancelled. they insist on keeping dumb shows around instead. BRING FOREVER BACK!
I don’t think ABC will bring it back no matter how much we protest nor what we say about Forever. How about we suggest to Netflix that they pick it up and continue the storyline, like they did with another great one that was cancelled, Longmire.
We loved it and have recorded most of the episodes 15 thru 22. Wish there were more.
