TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I really enjoyed this show. Please bring it back. It would be so interesting to see Morgan and Martinez working together when she has the knowledge of his longevity.
I love the show, I thomk the story line was great . I wish it was renewed .
It shouldn’t have been canceled. It was a great show that my whole family could watch together. Although it is violent everyone absolutely loved it. Bring Forever back!
I couldn’t believe that Forever is canceled Finally show worth watching and now canceled. There is so much junk and trash on tv. I wish the people in charge would rethink their decision. Loved the last show and will miss it.
Bring back the show ‘Forever’!!!! Absolutely wonderful show! ABC made mistake canceling this!!
I get so tired of u guys canceling all the good shows.. I record all my show cause I hate commercials. but Foever was great.. this is probably why I watch showtime and HBO
Why oh why do we continue to lose good TV shows? Please count the people that actually watch! We need “Forever” to return!
I don’t understand how a network can just assume because a show is not watched at the time established, people will not watch it at their own time; or watch the show using the on-demand option provided by the cable company. The Neilson Rating System is out dated and they need to find another because many good shows get cancelled for the wrong reasons.
Agreed 100%
Here is the thing, just found out the ABC in its infinite lack of wisdom cancelled one of the best shows on Television. The show is called Forever, with a great story line, great actors and let’s not forget Romance. There is no violence, there is no gratitous sex, there is no cheating, mayhem, vulgarity or really bad behavior. Go figure!! No wonder ABC pulled the plug, because it plays like a Romance Novel of a time gone by. The main character is immortal, but he is not a vampire nor does he have a dark side. He is gentle,… Read more »
How do they determine the “ratings” . I’ve never been asked what I watch. It seems all the big shots want is mindless realty shows with nobody’s that don’t get the money that real and talented actors get. More money in their pockets as I am sure the advertisers still have to pay the same outrageous prices.
AWESOME SHOW – and you cancel it?
Nothing has been more interesting, amusing, delightful, gripping, talented and exciting on network television in YEARS, if ever. Had the whole package…How could you CANCEL it?!
Give it another chance! Put it on another night. Amazing writing and creativity for a change.
PLEASE reconsider.
I agree with the previous comments. Finally a show that is worth watching is canceled because the people who are counted in ratings aren’t watching network TV. Being an old granny I am aware I don’t count but just the fact that a show that had the potential to really become something great by the story development and the fabulous interaction between the actors. I don’t understand the decision to cancel when so many watch the show in other countries, what is the matter with values in American business.
We loved the show! what a shame a series that made you think and great actors and story line!
Love this show and the entire cast and story lines. I agree with so many others that some of us love the intelligent thought provoking shows more than the stupid comedies that make up a good part of the night time lineups. It’s a shame that such a wonderfully written series gets the axe. I just hope that one of the cable networks picks it up!
Im so upset that Forever was cancelled!! This was the best show! I want it back now! It was my husband’s and my favorite show!! Please bring it back!!
