While not weighing in on raindrops on roses or whiskers on kittens, star Lauren Graham makes it clear that the Gilmore Girls TV series revival movies, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, is her “most favorite thing.” Watch it, below.
Netflix has revived Amy Sherman-Palladino’s classic as four 90-minute movies. Each one features a different season in the lives Lorelai (Graham), Rory (Alexis Bledel), and Emily (Kelly Bishop). Stars returning from the original Gilmore Girls TV show include Jared Padalecki, Melissa McCarthy, Liza Weil, Scott Patterson, Matt Czuchry, and Milo Ventimiglia.

Lauren Graham was on hand to announce the 2016 Emmy nominations, but of course we couldn’t let her go without talking about some Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life talk in.
“It was my most favorite thing I’ve ever done. I was very thankful every day and really could kind of connect to, ‘I’m so lucky. Wow, what an experience to get to do this again,’ in the way that we don’t often get those chances in life,” she told E! News about returning to the role of Lorelai Gilmore for the Netflix revival. “It’s not even a do-over, it’s just to go back with an understanding of how rare it all was and is. Plus, I just love that material. I love it. I never get tired of it.”
Graham said Sherman-Palladino was inspired by the episode structure of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock.
“There is no plan to do anything else, but she just made this up, Amy, the creator of the show because she liked Sherlock in the way that…sometimes they do three episodes, sometimes its one, sometimes it’s a movie with time travel,” she said. “It’s just whatever story dictates and for us it was always an oddball show wherever it was, so now it can just be what it is.”
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life will premiere later this year on Netflix.
