Amazon wants more Goliath. Deadline reports the streaming service has renewed the David E. Kelley series for a second season.
In January, star Billy Bob Thornton picked up a Golden Globe for his role as Billy McBride, a washed up lawyer who takes on the major corporate firm he helped create. The show’s cast also includes Maria Bello, William Hurt, Olivia Thirlby, Sarah Wynter, and Molly Parker.
Kelley will return as an executive producer for season two, but Clyde Phillips (Dexter) will take over as showrunner for the Amazon series.

I’ve watched many television series over the years and it’s been awhile since such a fresh new approach has surfaced. One can only watch so many endless reruns of past greats, e.g. Law & Order, Criminal Intent and L&O SUV. The quirky nature of the lead characters (refreshingly acted by actors I’ve not had the pleasure of watching before) seem to surpass the evident talent of the tour de force actors we all know and love, with the exception of Mr. Thornton. Thank you for a wonderful series. Can’t wait for Season 2
