Haven is returning to SyFy later tonight. The series is ending its run at the end of the upcoming episodes. Some viewers might have forgotten the series that stars Emily Rose, Lucas Bryant, and Eric Balfour. SyFy took the series off the network last year.
There is good news to go along with the bad news though. Fans worried that the series will end without closure can stop worrying. In a recent conference call, members of the cast teased that all the loose ends will be tied up before the final credits roll.
TV Line confirmed that when they spoke about the series in one of their spoiler reports earlier this week. Matt Webb Mitovich teased:
“I’d like to point out that Syfy’s Haven won’t be “leaving” viewers hanging when it wraps its five-season run (starting this Friday), seeing as the final episodes were very much crafted as an ending to the series.”
What can fans expect out of Haven’s final episodes. Will the troubles stop troubling the small town?
Lucas Bryant answered that question coyly when he spoke to Seat42F.
“Is there closure for the Troubles? That is perhaps something you are going to have to wait and see, and also perhaps open to interpretation. But I know people will be shocked, moved, and hopefully satisfied as well.”
He also revealed the major focus of the upcoming episodes.
“As we open in Season 5B, it is an all new Haven. It was really exciting to read, it was very cool to shoot and it puts the characters in a whole new levels of danger We have some really big clues and because of some new characters and their unlimited potential for both ruining everything and fixing everything, the characters start to uncover possibilities to make this whole thing go away. So as much as it is pretty devastating, there is great hope too.”
The second half of Haven season five will air on Thursday nights on SyFy. Are you excited for the return of Haven? Will you be sad to see it end? Tell us what you think.
Had a fantastic ending. I thought the ending was perfect
I think the ending of Haven was great. They ended it perfectly. I’ve been watching Haven since it started, and I loved every show.
I simply love Haven. Always look forward to the new seasons arrival. Seems like every time I get involved with a good science fiction show it always gets cancelled. My friend Judy also likes it. If she misses it she will watch it on Netflix. I do not have that option. So sorry to hear it is going away, makes me very sad.
I could watch Audrey and Nathan solving troubles in Haven or another alternate universe forever! Loved their dynamic and beautiful relationship. Nice looking TV couple too! Everything about them was/is perfect!
I agree with you. If you don’t watch vampires, superheroes, zombies, etc, your favorite show will be cancelled. I was always wondering what the next trouble was going to be. Oh, or eating the brains of dead people.
I am so upset that yet another favorite show is ending because networks never care what the fans think. I’m sorry for ranting, but I’m so tired of this. I’m boycotting Syfy from now on. Maybe my one little self won’t make a difference, but it will make me feel better.
Haven is my favorite show and hopefully will be able to continue on Netflix or another outlet. The viewing numbers seemed more than enough to keep the show on? One reason I enjoyed the show was the writing and acting was great and didn’t need all the unnecessary adult content and really just relied on a good story line and quality actors. It seems that shows have to have gratuitous content in order to stay on network these days…..very frustrating.
Have watched and thoroughly enjoyed Haven since the beginning. This 2 Hour Season Premiere was better than all of Season 5, which, to me, went totally off the rails. Now that it is back to it’s skilled writing, the acting was always consistently good, perhaps Syfy would reconsider their decision to cancel. I agree with commenter Ross that the lag between seasons causes viewer attrition as they look to fill their time with other shows. Haven doesn’t need to be revamped at all but management certainly needs to maintain high writing standards, observe trends, and closely monitor their fan base.
I will miss Haven a lot! My 16 yr old daughter and I have never missed an episode, and we’re really disappointed it was cancelled. I did like the show better when The Chief was still around, and Duke was his jolly smuggling self, but it’s been an enjoyable show and we will miss it.
I will definitely be sorry to see Haven canceled. There aren’t any shows like this one. But like all networks they don’t really care what viewers think.
I have never missed a single episode. And don’t plan to now!! I truly hate to see it go!! I’d so much rather see it go on for several more seasons!!
For those of you who would like to see Haven renewed beyond season 5b- Spoke to rep from Netflix- he said they pay much attention to fan interest- if there was sufficient interest they would consider picking Haven up. So… flood them with emails, social media, phone calls, etc. There is more strength in numbers he said.
I will really miss the show. I love it when she went bad and then there was both good and bad Audrey at the same time. Great acting on her part. But SyFy has this big problem with there shows.. There is too big a gap between seasons and since there don’t show reruns of the previous season viewers find other shows to watch and then ratings go down. They started a new show this summer called Dark Matter. Like it. But they will probably wait a year to show next season. Glad there will be clousure
I love this series. I will miss it.
It one of the best show I have watch great actors and Emily rose is great and the writer was very good I wish it would stay on I have brought the hole serices love it will miss it
I stopped watching Haven when Audrey “went bad” but I might get caught up just so I can watch the end of the series. I really loved it up until then.
Please do that, It was great when she came back to to the “Good Audrey” again.
