Heartbeat has officially flat-lined. Variety reports NBC has cancelled the medical drama after one season.
The series centers on Dr. Alex Panttiere (Melissa George), a cardio-thoracic surgeon trying to juggle her personal and professional life. Dave Annable, Don Hany, Joshua Leonard, Jamie Kennedy, D.L. Hughley, Shelley Conn, Maya Erskine, and J. Louis Mills also star.
Nearing the end of its first season, Heartbeat has continued to fall in the ratings. The series began strong, receiving a 1.39 in the 18-49 demo and 6.304 million viewers for its March premiere. However, the show is currently averaging only .85 in the 18-49 demo, with 4.631 million viewers.
The season one, and now series, finale airs on May 25th.

I loved this show! It was very clever and funny. I really liked and rooted for the main character as well as the other characters. I want it back! Hopefully another network will pick it up.
I was truly devastated to see this series end. It had all the elements anyone could ask for. It made me laugh, cry and hope. It was smart and sexy. I will keep hoping to see it come back to life.
