Tonight, USA Network aired the series finale of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Many who work on the TV show hope that’s not necessarily true.
Last Summer, it was rumored that the cop drama might be cancelled following a season of lackluster ratings. USA instead opted to bring Criminal Intent back for a 10th and final season of eight episodes. To cap the show’s run, it was also announced that Kathryn Erbe and Vincent D’Onofrio, who left abruptly at the start of season nine, would return.
Though USA has been calling season 10 the end of Criminal Intent, we learned in May that executive producer Dick Wolf wasn’t throwing in the towel just yet. He told reporters that he hoped, “enough fans will come out so the powers that be reconsider their decision.” Later, executive producer Chris Brancato noted that, “Yeah, I think if viewers are enthused about Vincent and Katie coming back I don’t see why it has to be the final season.” The ratings have shown improvement.
Erbe is also hopeful that tonight won’t be the end and would be to season 11. She recently told TV Guide, “I know that I would be there in a heartbeat. I’m fairly positive that Vincent [D’Onofrio] feels the same way. Everyone was really hoping that, in the 11th hour, we’d get some word… Whether the fans are able to muscle us back or not, who knows. They have amazing power.”
Regardless of what happens, Erbe is grateful for the chance to return to the series. She said, “I just know that these eight episodes were like a gift. To be able to come back and have closure with the crew and the cast and everyone… If that happens again, fantastic. It would just be like icing on the cake.”
If the series doesn’t come back, the actress feels that viewers will like this farewell to Goren and Eames better than their departure in 2010. Erbe notes, “I know we set out to make it satisfying… The one thing I know you’re going to see is that Goren and Eames are on much better, more solid ground. Healthier, happier and in good shape.”
If she never gets to play the role again, Erbe imagines that her character would continue solving cases with Goren and just continue to live her life.

OK, of course I want to see more of Goren and Eames. But, D’onofrio is such a wonderful, and really, under appreciated actor. I would walk 10 thousand miles and I would walk 10 thousand more… just to see him in ANY movie.
Okay, there have been enough trial shows. It is time to bring back Law and Order, Criminal Intent making sure to bring back Goren, Eaves, and Jeff Goldblum,s character.

I hope they don’t take off Law and Order Criminal intent. Goren and Eames are wonderful,
they make the show. Don’t change the actors I’d stop watching, those two really make the show
When Bobby and Eames left, I stopped watching. I was probably depressed for a month. I like Bobby’s goofiness, his understanding of human behavior, and how Eames just goes with weirdness, she understands him to a degree. As if any other actors can take their place, like they tried to do in season 9. No one can solve a case like these two. Bring back LOCI for another season or 2 or 3 …I’d be very happy.
I love Law and Order CI, the best are with Goren and Eames. Bring the show back, please.
I love Goren & Eames on Law & Order Criminal Intent – it’s my favorite show; even if I can only see it in reruns. PLEASE bring them back!!!

Bring back Law and Order Criminal Intent!!!! Just don’t bring back no other detectives but Goren and Eames.. The others are not worth watching..!!!
I LOVE law & order:ci!!!!! But only with goren and eames!!! They are the most interesting characters!!! PLEASE, PLEASE bring them BACK!!! They are GREATLY missed!!!

This was our favorite show, my family and friends expect to have more of them. Those 2 actors are the best, excellents and looks as a real prociding. Gorean and Eames are unique.

LAW AND ORDER CI IS AWESOME, QUIRKY, INTERESTING AND REALISTIC IN ITS PLOTS. GOREN AND EAMES COULDN’T HAVE BEEN BETTER CHARACTERS TO LEAD THIS SHOW. HOW CAN WE LIVE WITHOUT C.I! IT IS ONE OF THE MOST ENTERTAINING SHOWS ON TV. ALL THE CHARACTERS THAT WORK WITH GOREN & EAMES ARE THE PERFECT COMPLIMENT TO THIS EXCELLENT, HIGH QUALITY DRAMA. PLEASE BRING IT BACK. I REALLY MISS ALL THE CHARACTERS AND STORY LINES!

this was the one show that I even recorded when on vacation – This show needs to be brought back and Gorean and Eames need to be back on it!!!! No other show has characters who gell as well as these two do. They can hold an audience like no other!!
Yes, bring back Law and Order C.I. with Onofrio and Erbe.
I stopped watching it when Goren/Eames disappeared.
Same thing for SVU. Altho the new characters are likeable,
I don’t watch it as often as with Stabler.
I couldn’t stand Goren/Eames. I could only start watching when Goren disappeared, so come to think of it, Eames was okay, but kind of meh. I thought Jeff Goldblum’s character was the best. Agreed with you about SVU without Stabler, though.
