canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Legends: Season Two Ratings

Published: December 30, 2015

Legends TV show on TNT: ratings (cancel or renew?)Last year, despite the fact that the first season of Legends did very poorly in the ratings, TNT renewed it for a second season anyway. The producers have given the series a creative overhaul in hopes of attracting more viewers. Will it work or will the changes alienate the viewers they had? Cancelled or renewed for a third season? Stay tuned.

Based on the award-winning book by spy novelist Robert Littell, Legends follows Martin Odum (Sean Bean), an undercover agent who can transform himself into a different person for each case. Others in the cast this season are Winter Ave Zoli, Steve Kazee, Aisling Franciosi, Kelly Overton, Klara Issova, and Ralph Brown. Last season castmember Morris Chestnut will guest star in several episodes.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

12/15 update: TNT has cancelled Legends after two seasons.

Final season averages: 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 570,000 total viewers.

Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.

For comparisons: The first season of Legends averaged a 0.33 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.53 million total viewers.

How are your shows doing in the ratings? Check the current rankings:
A&E | ABC | AMC | Bravo | CBS | CMT | The CW | FOX | Freeform | FX | FXX
Hallmark | HBO | History | MTV | NBC | OWN | Showtime | Starz | Syfy | TBS

Let's put some pressure on TNT!!

Let's put some pressure on TNT!!

TNT wants to know what we think about the second season of Legends. They say our voices are going to be heard. Here’s the link to the TNT survey:

https://www.tvinnercircle.com/S.aspx?s=657&r=Zh2wg63kE5RW43b5FU2r2b&so=true&a=1337&fromdetect=1

Let’s make them realise that they’ve made an error underestimating the popularity of the show. Perhaps there’s still a chance to make them change their minds. We’ll never know if we don’t try.

whoever the executives are @tnt are idiots. Show’s like legend should not be cancelled. I don’t know how they got such low ratings when everyone I know loves the show. I’m starting to think it has nothing to do with ratings and more to do with 10 men in a room deciding for everyone what they like. Either way television is becoming a joke

Legends was one of the best shows on TV!!! It got better and better!! The problem is TNT lack of marketing – time slot – I didn’t even know the second season started!!! Watched most of it on demand. This show is a winner!!
Another network should see that and pick it up fast!!!

Dear TNT, if you’re reading this, please reconsider cancelling this particular show. The first season of Legends found me on the edge of my seat, but the second one has surpassed all my expectations. I understand that the second season developments are probably more appealing to the European audience, that’s why I would like you to take into account the international release and the profit you’ll make on it. I am 100 % sure the Europeans will appreciate not only the brilliant acting and cinematography of the show, but first and foremost its prophetic dimension. Don’t let the recent Paris… Read more »

What makes a hit tv show? Answer, a good time slot on a network channel. This is the only explanation why a dumb down show like NCIS has a large following and a smart stylish show like Legend is cancelled. This show is as good if not better then Homeland.

PLEASE keep Legends!! This show is great! Sean Bean is such a good actor, the way he transitions from one character to another in one episode is amazing. He does it seamlessly. There needs to be more advertising of the show and Sean Bean should get recognized for his great acting!

Sorry to hear the bad cancellation news. Strangely enough, I can’t fight the feeling that TNT has been casting pearls before swine. Another gem gone, pity.

Please keep Legends. It’s a great show with a great lead actor. I prefer the style of the first season and would like to see it return to the more traditional format. I think shows need stability in time slots and day to gain viewers. I’ve stopped watching what used to be some of my favorite shows because networks are constantly changing when to find them.

My husband and I have never missed a show, but we are not in the 18-49 demo. I think older watchers can appreciate shows like Legends more than these kids you’re catering to.

I loved the first season and was so looking forward to the second. But, I don’t know what happened. This season absolutely sucks and is unremarkable. I find the pulp fiction approach, constantly switching between storylines and chronological time, to be totally annoying. Did they lose last year’s director and/or writers? This show is doing no justice to an otherwise top-notch, brilliant actor (Sean Bean).
