FXX has pulled the plug on Legit after two seasons. Tonight’s episode will also serve as the comedy’s series finale.
Legit revolves around a fictional version of Australian stand-up comic Jim Jeffries who’s made it big on the comedy circuit in the US and now wants to grow up. His friends and Venice, CA roommates are his divorced and alcoholic best friend, Steve (Dan Bakkedahl), and Steve’s brother, Billy (DJ Qualls) who suffers from muscular dystrophy. Episodes are based on Jeffries’ stand-up routines.
The series has struggled in the ratings, particularly once it moved from FX to FXX. As a result, the cable channel has decided they don’t want a third season.
In a post on his Facebook page, Jeffries wrote, “Legit has been cancelled. Sorry to everyone who was a fan of the show, please watch tonight it’s the final two episodes. I am very proud of the work that I did on this show and I made friends that ill have for life. So I’m going to try and not be sad about this.”

Legit was the best show I’ve ever seen. No question. And it wasn’t a bullsh*t sitcom either. It was real. It made me feel things I’ve never felt. Think things I’ve never thought. I cried when I finished it on Netflix. Such an awesome show with raw passion shouldn’t have been cut short because of rating from that stupid FXX channel. If FXX said that its ratings were so low, how could Rotten Tomatoes give it a 96%?
Just got done watching Legit on Neflix … MUST. HAVE. MORE! I can’t believe FXX cancelled it, d*cks! Although, I hardly watch shows as they air on TV, I usually wait a season then binge watch it on Netflix so maybe the audience wasn’t there at the time of airing but it seems like they are now sooooo Netflix …. Please please plllleeeaasssee pick up Legit! You won’t regret it!!!

I just started searching as to why Legit has not been renewed. Why the heck not it was an awesome show . What a shame it was great I had turned several friends on to it. # hugemistake FX, netflix should do season 3!!!
FXX is what should be cancelled. These phucking cable stations do a horrible job positioning and scheduling good shows. ***** you FX, or FXX, or whatever the ***** you call yourself. Netflix should pick this up, it would do great, unlike these IDIOT cable stations.
