It looks like the story of the Sutton clan has come to an end. ABC Family has quietly decided to cancel Lincoln Heights after four seasons.
Lincoln Heights tells the story of Officer Eddie Sutton (Russell Hornsby) who moves his family back to his old neighborhood. Other castmembers include Erica Hubbard, Nikki Micheaux, Rhyon Brown, Mishon Ratliff, Robert Adamson, and Michael Reilly Burke.
The TV show debuted on January 8, 2007 and the first season was successful enough to warrant a renewal by March. At that point, it was one of the cable channel’s higher performers in the key demographics.
While announcing that the second season would kick off in September 2007, ABC Family President Paul Lee said, “We really think we have something unique here… The fact that it’s an African American family drama alone separates it from the crowd, but its terrific cast and superb writing also make it truly special and perfect for ABC Family.”

Following season two, it took several months for ABC Family to decide to bring Lincoln Heights back for a third round. They finally did and that kicked off in September 2008. The audience grew and the show became the cable channel’s top performer among Females 12-34 and Female teens. It didn’t take as long to renew the series for year four.
Season four kicked off in September 2009. It ended up being one of the channel’s weaker programs of 2009, being outperformed by other ABC Family shows, including cancelled Kyle XY.
No specific reason was given for the Lincoln Heights cancellation. However, though it’s been favored by some critics, the series has never been a big hit for the cable channel and has only been given 10 episode renewals each season.

I just finished rewatching Lincoln Heights and honestly I am so gutted that this show was cancelled. It is a show that you can never get tired of. Each episode was a thrill, a lesson to be learned, inspiring, and down right amazing. Lincoln Heights could have explored many avenues and it is a shame that it did not get that chance. Lincoln Heights can not be replaced, but I wish there were more shows on air that was just like this.
I love this show!! Since I got my fire stick it’s all I watch!! I’m being taken back to a time where new episodes would come on, and I didn’t want to leave the TV screen until it went off! I’d loveeeee for some network station to pick it up. BET maybe?? We need more shows like this!
Please bring it back. Excellent family show with real life si tuations. Watched with my 16 yr old and was amazed at his tea tion. He was kind, empathetic and compared to his own life like . We need this in today’s world. Family values and good lessons
Bring back Lincoln Heights! It was Such a good show!! Me and my dad and mom would watch that show every night that’s the last show we all watched together as a family until my parents split. As you can tell in the comments a lot of us liked the show you guys should really bring it back. It came out when I was 4 years old nd when I was 9 we started watching it. I’d really like to see it back on Netflix! It tough me a lot.

Lincoln Heights was a great TV Series some people think the TV Series wasn’t that popular, but it was a positive TV Series. It showed people how tough things are out here in the world, and what we can do to help it. I love the TV Series and hope you change your mind about Season Five.

I’ll write the first comment of 2017 this show was amazing I am still sad they canceled it I honestly would have done anything for them not to cancel it. Lincoln heights was the best show I have EVER watched
Lincoln Heights gave people a sense of pride and encouragement that police officers aren’t all bad, and that there is a mix. The show provided a way to connect to officers and their struggles as well. It should be brought back and the story line resume with the oldest love life flourishing, the Sutton’s bringing the community closer together.
I think Lincoln Heights should be continued because it was a good family show and it was a black show. We still watch the repeats today.
Seeing comments in 2016 still fighting for shows return should be enough for the show to air again. These shows they have now on “FreeForm” (which idk why the name changed or what it even means) are wack and less interesting. Maybe because they want to sugar coat what’s actually happening in real life. Lincoln Heights portrayed real life events that are still happening today. I’m really fighting and hoping this show returns because it helped me emotionally and spiritually. #BringBackTheHeights
Lincoln Heights was an excellent show that shouldn’t have been canceled. The story line was interesting and the acting was good. My family enjoyed the show.

I just recently started watching the show,and I was surprise it has been cancelled. It is a great show. I believe if it was on a more popular station it would get a better recognition.
