ABC has renewed their Mistresses TV show for a fourth season but, just like last year, one of the four ladies won’t be returning.
Based on a British series of the same name, Mistresses revolves around the lives and loves of four sexy female friends. The third season cast includes Yunjin Kim, Rochelle Aytes, Jes Macallan, Jennifer Esposito, and Brett Tucker.
The series was way down in the ratings in season three, averaging a 0.75 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.19 million viewers. Year-to-year, that was down by 23% in the demo and down by 14% in viewers.
Original castmember Alyssa Milano decided not return for the third season when production moved to Vancouver to cut costs. Now her replacement on the summer series, Esposito, has decided she won’t be back for season four. According to Deadline, the actress signed a one-year contract and now that that’s finished, Esposito has decided to move on.
What do you think? Do you like the Mistresses TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled instead? Will you miss Esposito in season four?
Love this show!!!! So glad it isn’t canceled!!!!
Started watching the show because I love Alyssa but I’m glad the show wasn’t canceled. I love this show and glad to see its coming back for a 4th season.
Never watched till Jennifer Esposito joined the cast, She the best thing that has happened to the show. Never watched, but when I heard she was joining the cast I got very excited. She was on Blue Bloods before Mistresses and I will miss her terribly. She a wonderful actress and deserves the best. Hope to see you in the future on television or in the movies. You are a great actress
Good Luck Jennifer!
I LOVE THIS SHOW – have watched since the beginning. Sure, I miss Alyssa, won’t miss Esposito – not impressed with her acting at all. This is a great show – can’t believe the ratings went down that much.
I love this show! So happy it is renewed!
I wish they would find a way to get Alyssa back, I really wanted to see her deal with her sister and her husband.
I won’t miss Jennifer Esposito at all, glad she is not coming back.
I liked the show because it treated polyamory some intelligence and depth. My life partner and I have been polyamorous since 1967, when there wasn’t even a word for it, and no social support. Although we are not pleased that one of the triad had to die to sanitize the plot, we understand that’s how popular entertainment thinks it has to treat minorities, killing off first mixed race couples, then gay lovers, and now polyamorous people. Being killed off is the first step to acceptance, evidently. But we’re glad polys are no officially at that first step.
I loved this show and it is very upsetting that you guys cancel the good shows and leave the trash on. Please put it back on. I don’t know where you get your status from but everyone I ever spoke to loved that show. Fb, Instagram etc….
I think season 3 was the best one yet! Looking forward to season 4!
I love this show and i certainly hope they don’t cancell it!!!
