Nashville will air an all-new episode on ABC later tonight, but fans know the end is near. The network cancelled the series last week, but there is still hope. With the people behind the series actively looking for a new home, it is possible that the series could return for a fifth season.
However, Connie Britton has already shared a message with her fans about the cancellation of the series on social media. She shared the following message after the news broke, according to TV Line:
“To the amazing friends and family who are Nashville, to the cast and crew, and most of all to the fans…I’d just like to say it’s been my honor to be a part of this world, to live in it and breathe it in and try to replicate it. Sometimes we were more successful than others. But the place of Nashville in my heart is deep and permanent. I am grateful for the hard work and faith of so many who dedicated themselves to creating and supporting this show. And I am forever changed for the better. Thanks for the music.”
According to TV Guide, the actress also spoke about the cancellation of the series on a talk show appearance earlier this week. Nashville has been a big part of her life. She has raised her adopted son there since 2011. She said the following:
“I’ll talk to my Nashville friends, and they’re all devastated. It’s a real bummer also for the town too. I’m going to miss those people so much. I’m so upset, then I talk to my friends in L.A., and they’re like, ‘We’re so happy you’re coming home.’ So I’m just like, I don’t know what I feel! [My son is] 5, and we’ve been doing the show there for four years, so it’s a big deal. It’s over. The end of an era. I think he’s going to just ditch me now because he’s like, ‘I’m staying in Nashville now. These people are cool. I’m learning how to play the drums. See you later.'”
The finale for the series will air next Wednesday night. Do you want another network to come in and save Nashville from the grim reaper? Tell us what you think.
Please bring Nashville back. I never cared for country music but now I do. In particular I never realized how important the songwriters were. With so much reality TV, Nashville is reminiscent of the series Dynasty, Dallas, and Falcon Crest. You fell in love with the characters and tuned in every week because you were so vested. Nashville gave us a peak inside country music and real life dramas with the ultimate love story between Deacon and Rayna. I hope some channel picks it up!!!!! Nashville was a breath of fresh air with all the crime shows and reality TV.
Words cannot express how upset I am about the cancellation of one of the best shows I’ve ever watched. I look forward to seeing the show every week. The show itself is great and so is the music. I was in shock when they announced after last weeks show that, next week was the series finale. Why ABC?? Without any warning!! Please work hard to find another network that will bring the show back. It needs to be back it is an awesome show it should’ve never been canceled, in my opinion. And I think I speak for so many… Read more »
I was BEYOND upset when I learned this show was canceled, as are so many others that I know! This is a GREAT show! Why the cancelation??? I pray another network picks it up!!
I have never liked country music but my husband and I love this show. It is genuine, sincere, does not insult the intelligence of its viewers like most of thee garbage the networks put out and is blessed with an amazing cast.Shame on the new president of ABC to destroy one of the few reasons to bother switching on the TV.
I just would like to say that I can relate to this show in many different levels. And just know alot of other fans can as well. And it would be a shame if you cancel it…. I sit and wait for this show to come on… I got clean 4years ago and I have been watching this show since it aired… and this show has given me hope to pursue my dreams and work through different obstacles in my life. It has taught me many many diferent life skills. . And not only that I can relate and I… Read more »
Question?? Was this guy high when he got his bright idea to cancel NASHVILLE?? Did he smoke a big one and say “hey, I think I’ll cancel NASHVILLE today, cause I CAN??” Did he have a falling out with his significant other and decide to punish EVERYONE around him? The actors, the crew, the DEDICATED VIEWERS? Just what the hell was was he thinking when he cancelled one of the best, if not THE BEST show that ABC has had in a VERY, VERY long time??!! Can someone tell me??? I LOVE NASHVILLE!!! It’s a true, authentic, heartwarming, yet a… Read more »
Best show on TV!!!!
It’s sad enough when a good show ends on a good note, with a good wrap-up and closure. But when it happens suddenly like this with none of that, it’s almost unforgivable. Why cancel a show this good, only to replace it with something clearly inferior next season? It may not be the best show on TV, but it’s good, and unique, and well worth watching. Netflix would do themselves a huge favor picking this up.
Please don’t cancel Nashville. My husband and I looked so forward to our “date night” with Nashville every Wednesday. Such a refreshing show with the characters and the music….love it. We are sick of reality tv which isn’t real in the first place.
Can’t believe how ridiculous this is. Nashville has become a part of my life that I care about. I will change my allegiance to any other network picking up Nashville. Really poor choice abc!!!
Nashville is my most favorite ever. We do not need more reality, but interesting drama as in Nashville. Please bring it back.
My favorite show. Please bring it back. We need more drama than reality tv shows.
Nashville is my favorite show. I do not want it cancelled. I hope another network picks it up. #BringBackNashville
I hope another network will continue Nashville. Love everything about the show.
There are over 27 TV series I follow. When SOA ended I screamed for more. Same with Longmire, which NF picked up. I loved Nashville as much as SOA…in the first two seasons. Now,the real country music is no longer played, too many big ticket guests, and all ’bout them political agendas…lest I forget. It was a love story, the love these people have for the music of Nashville. I miss what it was and detest what it has become. Saying something I’ve never said before, End It ! The music is dead, and the cheesy writing of these past two seasons, resemble a… Read more »
