Nashville will air an all-new episode on ABC later tonight, but fans know the end is near. The network cancelled the series last week, but there is still hope. With the people behind the series actively looking for a new home, it is possible that the series could return for a fifth season.
However, Connie Britton has already shared a message with her fans about the cancellation of the series on social media. She shared the following message after the news broke, according to TV Line:
“To the amazing friends and family who are Nashville, to the cast and crew, and most of all to the fans…I’d just like to say it’s been my honor to be a part of this world, to live in it and breathe it in and try to replicate it. Sometimes we were more successful than others. But the place of Nashville in my heart is deep and permanent. I am grateful for the hard work and faith of so many who dedicated themselves to creating and supporting this show. And I am forever changed for the better. Thanks for the music.”
According to TV Guide, the actress also spoke about the cancellation of the series on a talk show appearance earlier this week. Nashville has been a big part of her life. She has raised her adopted son there since 2011. She said the following:
“I’ll talk to my Nashville friends, and they’re all devastated. It’s a real bummer also for the town too. I’m going to miss those people so much. I’m so upset, then I talk to my friends in L.A., and they’re like, ‘We’re so happy you’re coming home.’ So I’m just like, I don’t know what I feel! [My son is] 5, and we’ve been doing the show there for four years, so it’s a big deal. It’s over. The end of an era. I think he’s going to just ditch me now because he’s like, ‘I’m staying in Nashville now. These people are cool. I’m learning how to play the drums. See you later.'”
The finale for the series will air next Wednesday night. Do you want another network to come in and save Nashville from the grim reaper? Tell us what you think.
I hope Fox Television or another network picks up Nashville and gets the 8 million dollar incentive from TN to continue production. Then they air it against an ABC show and it blows them away becoming a huge huge success and lasts for years to come.ABC you’re making a huge mistake. Fire whatever moron you let cancel this show and reconsider season 5.
It was their new president, Channing Dungey! Great first move Miss Dungey- epic Fail!!!
Its too soon…Rayna and Deacons story is just getting good….and Juliette and Averys love story is just beginning. To end the series now is such foolishness….We need more real life family oriented love stories instead of all the chaotic and demonic shows airing now. I just want to watch some television that i can believe in…I don’t care to watch the bull thats on tv now….#BringBackNashville…….
I truly believe that NASHVILLE has at least one great season left! In the f first place, there is absolutely no way to end the series gracefully with al the active story-lines going on, and the show has had a relevant season which definitely needs to be continued!
Please don’t cancel Nashville, it’s the only thing I looked forward to all week. I love the show so much, and it’s not time for it to be over! Please, pretty please
There’s been an awful lot of very good music come from this show from a place I’m intimately familiar with. I lived. In that area for a number of years. I was blown away to see that Skull’s Rainbow Room has reopened. Will be very sad to see that show gone. It seems like if I like a show, that s the kiss of death.
Oh my Gosh!!!! You literally just punched me in the gut. I actually have tears. How can you cancel this show. Are you on CRACK… Be sure and replace it with another dating show. Or Nina Warrior. You people are nuts. This show brought so much to Country Music and Nashville. ABC just made a BIG, STUPID, MOVE. IDIOTS.
The only reason watch ABC is to see Nashville. I guess it’s time to boycott that staying all together. Why are all the good shows cancelled?? I’m not a happy person right now!
I think this terrible . They have one decent show on tv and cancel after four seasons. WHY. Great acting. Great story and poof it’s gone. There are several shows that could go and it wouldn’t bother me but this was a show I looked forward to every week. I think I’ll watch Netflix instead of cable tv.
I was devastated hearing this remarkable, enjoyable show is being cancelled. What a huge mistake I am hoping that another station realizes it and picks up this wonderful show for a fifth season and beyond!!!
Cant believe it!! Seems the better the show the sooner it gets the ax these days. Hopefully it will be picked up by another smarter network.
Nashville is an Awesome show and should stay on TV for many years to come !! There are so many story lines in this show that can make this happen!! Please find a network that will continue to keep Nashville on TV!!! This show has Awesome Music, and Awesome Actors and Actresses!!!
I don’t care for country music, but I love “Nashville.” What a shock to hear that next week is the season finale! I never saw that coming! I really hope it finds a home on another network.
Nashville… please, please don’t go!! This show gave the viewers a cast characters who were wonderful and in a world of “reality” garbage programming, this show gave us actors with true talent!
Can’t imagine not seeing Nashville, it was one of the best shows ever to watch. I hope another network will see how much Nashville has meant to so many fans and will keep it on the tube. Please someone pick it up and let us see how this family continues to grow and live out their lives. This show has so many situations in it that so many people can identify with that it is a shame it is dropped to suddenly.
Please renew Nashville – it’s too great of a show to be cancelled!!!!
