After struggling for years in the ratings, it seems that NBC is really starting to turn things around. Of course, they still have their challenges. Which NBC TV shows will be cancelled and which will be renewed? Stay tuned!
NBC shows this season (so far): A to Z, About a Boy, AD: The Bible Continues: Allegiance, America’s Got Talent, American Ninja Warrior, American Odyssey, Aquarius, Bad Judge, The Biggest Loser, The Blacklist, The Celebrity Apprentice, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Constantine, Dateline, Dateline Saturday Night Mystery, Grimm, Hannibal, Hollywood Game Night, I Can Do That, The Island, Last Comic Standing, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Marry Me, Mr. Robinson, The Mysteries of Laura, The Night Shift, One Big Happy, Parenthood, Parks and Recreation, Running Wild with Bear Grylls, The Sing-Off, The Slap, State of Affairs, Undateable, The Voice, and Welcome to Sweden.
There’s lots of data that NBC looks at when deciding whether to renew or cancel a TV series but the ratings are typically the biggest piece. Here’s how the network’s shows are doing.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here and here.
A couple of notes about these charts:
These figures are updated automatically as new ratings are released. The averages are based on the final national numbers (live plus same day viewing), unless marked with an asterisk (*). For technical reasons, I have to resort them manually so feel free to let me know if I missed something.
Keep in mind that the demo numbers are typically what’s most important to advertisers. Therefore, that’s how the networks measure success. Advertisers pay more for ad time on a show that has a higher demo rating. Because older viewers don’t count? No, it’s because younger viewers watch less traditional TV and are harder to reach.
Demo numbers are typically reported using the 10ths decimal place (2.4, for example). In the averages, I’m using an extra decimal for easier ranking. The networks take into account when shows air on Fridays and Saturdays, nights when TV viewership is lower.
What do you think? Which shows are you rooting for? Which one isn’t as big a hit as you thought? Are you hoping any series will get cancelled to make way for something else?
Please keep the Mysteries of Laura! Love the show!
TAXI BROKLYN IS THE ONLY TIME I EVER WATCH NBC AT NIGHT. I HAVE TRYED TO BE LOYAL BECAUSE OF “DAYS OF OUR LIVES”. ALSO THE TODAY IS MY FASVORITE.
NIGHTTIME AT NBC STINKS. “TAXI BROOKLYN” WAS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR IN AN OTHERWISE DULL SCHEDULE. wHY WOULD YOU CANCEL THE ONLY GOOD SHOW IN YOUR NIGHT TIME LINE-UP?
NBC is doing something wrong. State of Affairs is not being watched because it isn’t a good show. It’s great show… Marketing is off – it has to be. Renew the show and do a better job marketing it… please.
Please do not cancel “ALLEGIANCE”
Just move ít to Tuesday night or other night of the week!
To many good rate show going- on Thursday night!
It very good story and very interesting, thanks
You can watch a show very similar to this on to cakes the Americans. In fact this shows could be twins.
You can watch a show very similar to this on fx called the Americans. In fact these shows could be twins.
A really good show please keep it going. This and blacklist is the only reason I watch this channel. Thanks d. Rose
Cancel State of Affairs, she is all wrong for the part. Maybe a different blonde.
Constantine needs to be renewed. Most of the maiden season was in a bad time slot, so of course figures will be down.
Conor Bless
Also the show sucked, that didn’t help
That new show The Night Watch seems to be doing perfectly fine in Constantine’s old slot. Better than Constantine, to say the least.
Face it, man, the day and time weren’t among the show’s many real problems.
All NBC cares about is ratings, they could careless how good of a show Constantine is and they don’t care about their loyal viewers either. I have watched NBC sacrifice a lot of good shows over the years because of ratings. Some were lucky enough to be picked up by other cable networks. That would be the best thing the greedy executives could do since they probably won’t renew Constantine is to sell the rights to another network say CW for instance where it would fare alot better.
Ratings are what drives the business, it’s what everyone cares about.
Ease for the love of god don’t cancel constantine. Me and my fam watch in every week. His rash personality is great, the stories are great and I’d hate to see something with such potential tossed out.
I demand that this thing that wasted its potential so badly get tossed out

Please, DO NOT cancel State of Affairs. This is an amazing show.
Please don’t sack Constantine. Give it a chance because it’s the next best thing after a long list of disappointments. The plot is well done and the acting is fit for this kind of fantasy storyline. Take a chance and you’ll see it will become a popular show.
Even Married with children and Stargate had a rough start but in the end they were profitable.
The plot is terrible, and the acting is Zed because Zed. And you know it (the Zed part, I mean). Pretty is not the same as acting.
I have not seen such action and suspense in years!!!! STATE OF AFFAIRS is absolutely awesome!!!!!! I cannot express how this series has kept me on the edge of my seat! LOVE IT! Please bring it back!
I can not even fathom why they would dream of canceling State of Affairs? This with Blacklist Chicago PD and Chicago Fire are the only reasons I even know what channel NBC is!!!
Please renew STATE of AFFAIRS..
we absolutely LOVE it!!!
Definitely one of our favorite shows .
We love State of Affairs. Please keep it going. Last episode was great cliffhanger.
I agree, State of Affairs is really good. It did seem as though the final episode for the season left little possibility for a continuation ? Also really like The Blacklist and Allegiance though the latter doesn’t seem to be doing that well. It’s not quite up to The Americans in my opinion, but the storyline has real potential.
We enjoy the action and suspense in State of Affairs!!!
It is one of our favorite shows.
