The saga of NBC’s medical disaster series continues.
Trauma revolves around a group of brave first responder paramedics in San Francisco. The high-action series is populated by an ensemble cast that includes Derek Luke, Cliff Curtis, Anastasia Griffith, Kevin Rankin, Aimee Garcia, Billy Lush, Jamey Sheridan, and Taylor Kinney.
Back in October, NBC indicated they weren’t ordering any additional episodes of Trauma beyond the initial 13 episode order, effectively cancelling the series. Then, in the wake of the failure of The Jay Leno Show, they ordered seven more episodes to fill primetime space.
When Trauma returned to the NBC schedule after a three month hiatus, the ratings were even worse than they were back in November. If the execs weren’t happy with the ratings before, they were very likely regretting their decision to order additional installments.
According to the Futon Critic, NBC has now cut their additional episode order from seven to five installments. That brings the season total to 18 episodes.
The last episode of the season, and almost certainly the series, will air on April 26th. No word yet if the producers adapted episode 18 so that it could serve as a series finale or if viewers will be left hanging.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Trauma’s episode order has been cut? Are you holding onto hope that it will be back for season two?

Trauma is the only program on NBC worth watching . Bring it back .
BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was hoping against hope that this show would make it … I thought this was a great show and am so disappointed that it won’t be back. I’d rather watch this than reruns of Law and Order, which is what is currently airing in it’s time slot. Seriously, can’t NBC give a good show a decent chance? Guess not. I honestly don’t watch NBC anymore outside of Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU … they just don’t give the good shows a chance.
It sucks that the show was cancelled I loved it.
I hope someone gives it another chance.
Please give Trauma another chance it is really a great show…
Please don’t take TRAUMA OFF the air it’s does get better with every episode…the cast is really a great bunch of actor, give it another chance…
Wow……….sorry to hear about Trauma…….loved this show. NBC has nothing to watch……all we need is another stupid reality show. Seems something good comes on and someone at the top decides to take it off. Nothing like watching a cook as MC of a ridiculous reality game show….no actors…just the promise to win a prize.
Great Show and a very decesion by NBC. This network just doesn’t care what the viewers want of watch. New time slot and promotion, just a simple solution.
SAVE TRAUMA !
It’s a great show. I don’t understand why it’s ratings are so poor (like many
other great shows that get poor ratings and get cancelled quickly), while there
is so much garbage out there lasting 5-6-7 seasons!
its a great show u have a big winner there i enjoy it every monday the critics dont know a great show if it bite him in the ass i hope u bring the show back if not put it on cable like they did it to law in order criminal intent
the show is the great the so call critics dont know a great show if it bite him up the ass please bring the show back on monday if that doesnt work put it on cable on usa just like they did it to law in order criminal intent
Keep the show. NBC always puts new shows in horrible time slots and then just cancels them leaving those who love the show MAD. Do NOT cancel Trauma.
Nooo! I love this show! I really hope it doesnt get cancelled.
Show only gets better with each episode. If the show was advertised I bet it would have made it. So sad to see it go the show had great potential and the cast were all charming to watch.
Maybe all it needs is a better time slot to give viewers a chance to get attached. We LOVE this show. Absolutely – not like anything else on. I really hope they re-think this decision.
