Say goodbye to Oscar and Felix. The Odd Couple TV show has been cancelled. There will be no season four of the CBS sitcom reboot. Deadline has confirmed the cancellation.
The Odd Couple centers on two former college pals, slobby sportswriter Oscar Madison (Matthew Perry) the uptight Felix Unger (Thomas Lennon), a photographer and neatnik. Lindsay Sloane, Wendell Pierce, and Yvette Nicole Brown round out the CBS sitcom’s cast.
The Odd Couple: A Look at the Ratings
The third season of The Odd Couple averaged a 1.02 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.99 million viewers. Compared to season two, the show was down by 27% and 26%, respectively. It was outperformed by most CBS TV shows, so the renewal does not come as a surprise.
Last month, Perry said he assumed the Neil Simon adaptation was over, because the stage door had been painted over, which is not the nicest way to break cancellation news.
What do you think? Were you still watching The Odd Couple TV series? Should CBS have cancelled or renewed it for a fourth season?
So sad to see it was cancelled!! I was actually looking forward to the new season- easpecially since so many of my other faves got the axe!!
I really enjoyed this show! Very dissapointed!
I don’t get it they always cancel the good shows! I for one will really miss it.
They replace this with did do much better, Then again CBS is known for pulling good shows off for less quility.
Sorry to see this funny show go. My husband and I enjoyed it. Do networks know that most people DVR shows and may not watch them in the first week of premiering. That way they don’t get the credit. We would catch up on this show when time allowed us to watch together, and watch like 3-4 episodes in one night.
