When we reported chances were good, we were not messing around. The Odd Couple TV show on CBS has been renewed for a third season. The news of the season three pickup broke as part of the CBS May Upfronts.
Based on the Neil Simon stage comedy (and all the comedies it has inspired), this iteration of The Odd Couple stars Matthew Perry as Oscar Madison and Thomas Lennon as Felix Unger — old college buddies who find themselves unlikely roommates, after their respective divorces.
Deadline adds:
The Odd Couple, which Perry developed with Danny Jacobson based on Neil Simon’s classic, also had been looking good for renewal after a better-than-expected ratings performance for the current second season. The sitcom, from CBS TV Studios, has been consistent and done well behind The Big Bang Theory on Thursday while also holding up OK on Monday. Bob Daily serves as the showrunner.
Other CBS TV shows renewed today include Code Black, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, and Undercover Boss.

Loved the tv show Odd Couple, can’t wait for season 3, perfect casting!
Can’t wait for new season.
Love this show!!!!
I liked the episode with Terri Hatcher, especially the one with the nanny. Very funny!
Please don’t take this off the air. It’s one of my favorite shows! The comedy in this sitcom is funny to a great many people who like good old fashioned comedy. It’s funny funny funny!
Is Deadline kidding? Consistent and done well? The ratings chart here showed it lost over 3 million viewers between season premiere and season finale. And it’s only holding 1/3 of TBBT’s viewers, a terrible waste of a powerhouse lead-in.
very surprised this has been renewed–the ratings are only half what they were in season 1. If Big Bang Theory wasn’t its lead I bet it would have been cancelled sooner
Love the show. Thanks for the renewal
Great cast! I look forward to it’s third season, keep it coming.
I find this a poor excuse for a comedy. Tried watching some in season one and I couldn’t bear it. Lame comedy and acting.
