Last season, Person of Interest moved to Tuesday nights and lost Taraji P. Henson. The show also lost a lot in the ratings. Will the numbers continue to fall or will they rise with a new lead-in? Is it essentially guaranteed to be renewed for a fifth season by CBS (because of syndication) or, could it be cancelled? Stay tuned.
On Person of Interest, a presumed dead former-CIA agent (Jim Caviezel) and a mysterious billionaire (Michael Emerson) work together to prevent violent crimes in New York City. The rest of the cast includes Kevin Chapman, Sarah Shahi, and Amy Acker.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/11 update: Person of Interest has been renewed for a fifth season on CBS. Will it be the end?

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
For comparisons: The third season of Person of Interest averaged a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 11.83 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Person of Interest TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a fifth season?
This is my most favourite show on TV. In fact, I am watching all the episodes on Netflix right now. CBS should have have given this amazing show a full season order, it is so much better than some of their other shows that got full seasons.
I loved POI season 1and most of season2. Unfortunately when they wrote shaw in I had to stop watching. I absolutely can’t stand her character. The whole show changed for the worst when they wrote her in, she brings nothing to the story lines except sarcasm and mean looks, she also takes away time from the original cast, who I loved. Get rid of shaw and keep the show on for more seasons.
I completely agree! She is so annoying. Totally ruins it for me 🙁
I loved Shaw …. She is vulnerable , caring , and doesn’t want to show it !!! Sorry , greatly disagree !
Shaw character developed by the middle of season 2 going into 3 and very much in season 4. She had to play that role initially for the subject line to play out. You can see how her character changes drastically. That’s what you call good writing and unpredictable
I really enjoy watching Person of Interest, it is a show that is complex and challenges the mind. The actors are great and I wouldn’t change them. I often wish I was a Nelson ratings person. It would be awful to take this show off the air when so many others need to be cancelled.
Hoping Persons of Interest doesn’t get cancelled.
Joan Leslie Noseworthy
I totally agree and keep watching and hoping the series will return again. I love this series, the story line, the actors, everything. Please bring it back!
I still love this show and absolutely think they should renew for a full episode count for season 5. It’s definitely not over, they still have so many ways to go with this storyline.
Please don’t cancel this series its fantastic and great writing ….all actors are great..
Have watched this show every year from the beginning starting with the pilot and have been looking for the fall season startup. Upset to see that tis show was on the chopping block. Get frustrated that the shows we watch seem to be canceled and garage put in its place. This is great show, please keep it going.
This show should be renewed (A Point of Interest ) very good cast & writing …..Hy
Love this show and all the characters, personally I think it was a mistake to kill off Carter.
It would be typical to cancel a show like this, we really need another sitcom or Jerry Springer waste of time but I guess most of the pizza eating and Coke swilling masses would rather watch a half hour of drivel than an hour show that makes you pay attention and think a little.
I think Taraji left to do Empire. Because if you think about it. She died in early season 3, that’s ending of 2013 going into 2014. She would’ve needed to start shooting for empire.
I watched Seasons 1 through 3 on NetFlick and enjoyed every one of them. I want to see Season 4 and want to see Season 5 when it comes out. It’s got a brilliant plot and I love the characters, particularly Harold, Shaw, John, and Fusco. The bad guys play vey good rolls as villains, very believable I like Shaw, her sense of humor and demeanor I mesmerizing. Root talks too much however. There’s too much boring rambling. POI is very entertaining to my wife and I. We hope it keeps going.
I have watched all three seasons of the show and simply love it. Can’t wait to see seasons 4 & 5. Please don’t cancel this show.
John from Ind.
Please continue the series as it is very real and will be in society in a few years as the hackers are way ahead of us in learning that, and the actors are good especially Shaw and Reese and finch and fusco
Best show on TV
Great showm. Been binging on Netflix and Amazon. Can’t get enough. Don’t want season 5 to be it’s ladt. Hooked!
Well thought out. Well acted. Pace is excellent. Of course CBS is cancelling in favor of, most likely, a $h1t comedy (loose terminology. Going back to cable CBS. I tuned in for this show.
It’s such a great show. Excellent writing , fantastic production qualities, great actors…It is thought provoking, addressing the issues of privacy and AI/AGI not to mention one of the best show on the major networks, if they (CBS) cancels the show I really hope cable picks it up, this is a show that keeps getting better and better and still has many stories to tell, and people who will watch!
I love the show!!!!!!! I’ve binged watched for two weeks and still love it! Full of surprises.. Great writers.
