What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the ABC television network, The Real O’Neals revolves around an Irish-Catholic family that seems to be living an idyllic life. Their lives are turned upside down when the middle son comes out of the closet and the rest of the family members come clean with their own secrets. They then start to live their lives more authentically. The show stars Martha Plimpton, Jay R. Ferguson, Noah Galvin, Matt Shively, Bebe Wood, and Mary Hollis Inboden.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of The Real O’Neals is averaging a 0.92 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.07 million viewers. Compared to the first season, that’s down by 17% in the demo and down by 22% in viewership. Check out The Real O’Neals’ performance against the other ABC TV shows.

Telly’s Take
The Real O’Neals had questionable ratings in its first season and they’ve dropped in season two. Several episodes have drawn less than a 0.9 rating in the demo. ABC could renew it for a third season but I suspect they’ll cancel it instead and find something new to fill the timeslot. Sorry O’Neals.

Yes!!!!!!!! Please. I love Martha Plimpton and the family. I love that it brings light to specific issues like being gay in a Catholic family. Something I think should be discussed more when it isn’t in fact a choice to be gay, big, transgender etc. It is part of you when you are born just as it is a part of a person that is straight when they’re born. I really hope they renew this show because its hilarious. & just all around love it!!

The real O’Neills is great and fun comedy that is much better than others out there. Please don’t cancel this show. Most of the shows that get put out there today are pure drivel and crap, it is refreshing to see a good show being produced again. It seems to me though that lately the drivel gets to continue and the good stuff gets cancelled. To be honest, I have to wonder if the views from Hulu count or if it’s only cable television that matters. Please renew the Real o”Neal’s for a third season
Unlike ABC’s other comedies, ABC did not order additional episodes of The Real O’Neals. Of all ABC’s comedies, I think the O’Neals are the most likely to get cancelled.
