In early October, NBC gave Revolution a full season order. It was presumed that the network had ordered nine additional episodes, bringing the season total to 22 installments. Not so.
Before it went on hiatus, 10 episodes of Revolution had aired. At the TCA Winter Press Tour, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt mentioned that there were 10 episodes left in the season. It was later confirmed that NBC has indeed ordered just 20 episodes.
Regarding the long hiatus, the choice to split up the season is similar to how some cable dramas have been handling their seasons. ABC found that Lost didn’t repeat well and frustrated viewers because the reruns interrupted the flow of the story. Executive producer JJ Abrams said scheduling Lost without repeats “helped tremendously. When this came up for [Revolution], I was tremendously relieved. It’s the best thing for the viewers.”
The move also assures that Revolution will continue to have the benefit of the network’s strongest lead-in, The Voice. Both shows return on Monday, March 25th and all episodes are expected to air before June.

My husband and I really liked his show and looked forward to every episode! We are so tired of watching all the new “norm” for families!!! I am so disappointed for the cancellation. I have kept waiting for its return–the new way of scheduling shows makes no sense and reruns of weekly episodes on a Saturday?? Why? Revolution was a truely different show that could and did in so many ways show America what could happen ‘if the lights went out’. It reminded me of a modern day western in so many ways. Bring it back. Please!!!!
We loved Revolution. You get us hooked on what’s happening, then just all of a sudden cancel. Why would you cancel something that has captured our attention?

The Hiatus is a stupid idea. Just as annoying as the cable channels airing eight or ten episodes and then you don’t see it for nearly a year. I can’t even remember the names of the characters on Falling Skies, which is a good show, but I have lost interest because it has been gone for months. I would rather a whole season and then wait a few months for the story to continue. Having said that Revolution is a great story. Really like it. The whole sci-fi /spiritual aspect of the nano tech is intriguing.
Not a good idea to break up the shows. People will find other things to watch and forget about revolution. Keep it going for the normal season.
The repeats and the hiatus is what is killing this show. We enjoy this show and would hate to see it cancelled because the network is not so smart with their scheduling. The break thing has not worked for other shows and will hurt this one. GET REAL
