There’s been no shortage of TV shows about doctors who have lots of problems. Some are ratings hits while others are cancelled after only one season. How’s Rush on USA Network been doing? Will it get a second season?
Rush revolves around a talented and handsome physician (Tom Ellis) who had it all — but then lost it in one fateful night. Six years later, he’s a private doctor who treats less-than-squeaky-clean clientele in Los Angeles. The rest of the cast includes Harry Hamlin, Larenz Tate, Odette Annable, and Sarah Habel.
Launching in mid-July, the first episode of Rush attracted 1.7 million viewers with a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic. It wasn’t an impressive start for a scripted show on USA.
For the episodes that followed, the numbers have bounced all around — up and down like a ping-pong ball. Last week’s installment hit series highs while the previous week hit new series lows. It’s difficult to explain but, when the ratings get this low, it doesn’t take many Nielsen viewers to watch or not watch a show to cause a dramatic shift in the ratings. Still, it is unusual.
Like Satisfaction, Rush has very poor ratings — even when compared to the rest of USA’s ailing scripted series. It seems very likely that USA will cancel Rush but, given the cable channel’s current situation, it could easily go either way.

10/2 update: USA has cancelled Rush after one season of 10 episodes.
I really liked Rush! Hope another network pick it up USA should stop showing Satisfaction because it is nothing but PORN.
Why on earth would you cancel the most original medical show with the perfect cast after only 10 episodes ? I’ve been in the medical field 30 years and this is closer to how some doctors (I said some) actually act. Rush was a breath of fresh air in the same old rut of shows year after year. Please bring it back per our 300 hospital employees!

Kwa kweli hii Series ni nzuri…I am from Tanzania-Africa and I got the chance to watch the show…there is so much to learn in it…maybe the concerned crew of the show could think of an alternative to bring it back to the viewers!
i have been waiting & waiting for Rush & Satisfaction to come back….. Cancelled????? I just cant hardly believe it. It had all the makings for an awesome series with several juicy seasons to come.. Very very sad & disappointed.

I love this show, just found out it has been cancelled. there was not enough advertisement of the show, i found out about it from my sister, didnt know anything about it until she told me about. great show

My husband and I love Rush! We’ve been waiting for Seson 2 to start, only to find out it’s been CANCELLED!!!!! Very disappointing. This is a great show. Please bring it back!

I would love for USA network to renew Rush for season 2. My husband and I both loved watching this show. It had everything we wanted, and more in a TV show series, why wouldn’t you want to watch it.
The show needs a chance to catch on.Everyone hasn’t had a chance to get into it.Its different from the goody goody 2 shoe Doc – patient run of the mill shows. To me it has panache. So give it another shot in the rump!!!
