Taken is making some major cast changes. TVLine reports Clive Standen and Jennifer Beals will be the only two stars returning for season two of the NBC TV show.
A prequel to the Liam Neeson film franchise, the action drama stars Clive Standen as a younger Bryan Mills, a former Green Beret who embarks on a quest for vengeance after a major tragedy. The cast also includes Jennifer Beals, Gaius Charles, Brooklyn Sudano, Monique Gabriela Curnen, Michael Irby, James Landry Hébert, Jose Pablo Cantillo, Simu Liu, and Ali Kazami.
According to TVLine, six season one regulars will not be returning for Taken‘s upcoming second season. They include Gaius Charles (John), Brooklyn Sudano (Asha), Monique Gabriela Curnen (Vlasik), Michael Irby (Scott), Jose Pablo Cantillo (Dave), and James Landry Hébert (Rem).
That means Standen and Beals will be joined by an all-new cast next season. The massive cast change possibly comes from new showrunner Greg Plageman, who reportedly has a “new vision” for the NBC TV show.

The new show is brutally bad. The pace is terrible, the entire team atmosphere is gone, and he doesn’t want to see the girlfriend that he almost died to save? New vision = terrible show. This was a bad choice not to bring the show back with the original cast and crew that made it awesome! WTH?
Haters suck! The first season was great and I loved the cast. I hate the changes
The show seemed to be to much like a spy show and not like a show about a special forces operative. That army show the unit was more exciting.
It will really be interesting to see the evolution of the storyline and the incorporation of new characters into this superior Series, one of my favorites. This show deploys a perfect mix of all the emotions of the primary character who we know so well from the movie franchise of the same name and the action and the covert spy genre related fare. My family & I really enjoyed “Taken” I do not know the new actors have to wait & see.
Premise is good. Writers needed to be replaced.
I like the show and the cast will have to wait and see if I will like the new cast. I was not happy with the romance between Bryan Mills and his sister best friend. I would have rather seen Christina and Bryan getting it on.
Perhaps the new story line could be about kidnapped victims (like the original movie) and it is their job to rescue the victim.
I enjoyed Season 1 very much. Thought overall cast was great! Will be interesting to see what happens with Season 2.
Saw first season, and liked it very much. The only change I would make is the “romance” angle with main star and woman that was his sister’s best friend. BORING…put more action in. Standen handles action very well, Jennifer Beals is great in her role. Kill the boring romance.
Agree about the romance – unnecessary except to provide leverage to get the guy out of jail. Plus, she was his sister’s roommate at college. Eeew…

I saw every episode and enjoyed all the cast members. I will continue watching as long as the stories stay as interesting as they were last season. The two people that are returning were my favorites so that is a good thing.
I liked the show and guess the new person in charge has his reasons.
I’m guessing “Riley” (Jennifer Marsala) made the cut? I’m curious as to where this will go.
