Get the details from The Wrap:
The three doctors developed a strong friendship while attending Tuskegee University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and reconvened in Las Vegas where they began their careers and honed their surgery skills. After years of paying their dues, they decided to fulfill their dreams of owning their own practice and set their sights on Dr. Ross’ hometown of Houston. In 2015, Cy-Fair Animal Hospital opened its doors to service the community and their pets.
The veterinarians are dedicated to providing the best care for their patients — both human and animal, the cable channel promised. Dr. Blue’s personality keeps customers smiling and in good spirits while Dr. Ross keeps the clinic running during an often hectic work day. Dr. Lavigne is a skilled surgeon who provides balance.
With a combined experience of over 22 years and a shared love of animals, the three vets thrive to educate the public about the importance of preventative medicine in order to extend the longevity of the human animal bond.
What do you think? How do you like the sound of Texas Vets. Do you plan to watch the first season and series premiere, on Animal Planet? Tell us.
This is now my favorite show on TV. I really wished that the were in Houston when I lived down their. The doctors are amazing . I really hope they continue this show. PLEASE DON’T CANCEL this program.. LOVE IT
I love this show!!!! Dr. Blue is a shining star and Drs. Ross and Lavigne are perfect in their professionalism. My twin in Maryland and I (I’m in Dallas ) never miss a show. Their love of animals shows through in everything they say and do and their personalities really come through. What they do for their community needs to be emulated by other vets. Truly, if I lived in Houston, they would definitely be taking care of my 3 rescued dogs, 5 rescued cats and 2 horses, one of whom is also a rescue. Keep up the good work… Read more »
I love the vet shows but am unsure why this group.was chosen to demonstrate the selfless, hardworking vets that care about our animals.

Probably because all the other vet reality shows feature white vets. Black folks become veterinarians too.
Please get over the black white thing-judge people on their merits and NOT their skin color
Black people own pets and patronize vets. Americans and vets, just like real doctors, come in all ethnicity’s.
This show is breath of fresh air. It is great to see the love that these 3 doctors have for their families, either other and what they do everyday. I have learned a lot about anatomy via the surgeries that they perform. I hope there are more episodes for the future. I tape this show every week, and sometimes watch them again, because I find it so entertaining. The company that I work for has a location in LaPorte, Texas ( just outside of Houston) , and if I had the opportunity to travel there, I definitely would check their… Read more »
WE LOVE THIS SHOW! Hope more episodes are filmed.

We are enjoying the show. Totally enjoyable and will be very put-out if we don’t see Series Two and more to follow.
I think they are focusing too much on the cushy life these vets and their wives lead on Texas Vets, and not enough time on what they are doing to help animals. Dr. Jeff, Rocky Mountain Vet is really inspiring because he does SO much to help low-income animal owners, and he’s obviously not in it for the money, attention or glory, but truly for his love for animals.
I am not getting the full story as to why people are so outraged. The story I read was that the they were euthanizing fewer animals at the shelter but there was more disease from more animals and lack of resources. I also read that the shelter is currently under fire for several major issues, including more euthanasia of healthy animals, uncleanliness and abuse, despite these vets no longer in association. I’d like to see actual documents showing any unethical practices and other claims people are making in the comments. It seems there could be two sides to the story.… Read more »
I live 3 minutes from this place and this clinic is not very liked by the people in the community. In the very short period of time they have been open they have managed to make a name for themselves in the worst kind of way . They will need out of area clients to stay in business. Plus every real Texan knows to only trust a vet who graduated Texas A&M and I’m longhorn.
YES I like most Vet shows, I hope animal planet starts to have these shows as well as Game Warden Showd
Yes. It sounds like a great addition to include on animal planet..Good to allow the world to see positive role models for young black men with a love and passion for animals…these guys are Great Vets.. They love and care for animals..Haters only hate and complain about anything all day everyday. I know I worked with them. Hey get your life.I’m just saying. Attend the vet school of your choice. Become a vet.
It is not haters it is the TRUTH that they ran the shelter into the ground and killed hundreds of animals. Oh, and had their contract revoked! Get the real story here: http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/Montgomery-Commissioners-back-in-animal-shelter-6623347.php
I just read that article and have no clue why you are so up in arms! It sounds like they were doing a good thing and it doesn’t specify the timeframe that they were involved. People are so quick to judge and criticize.
I just read the article as well and did not see what they did to warrant your anger, a license being revoked could e for so many reasons political etc..what exactly did they do to incur your wrath?

I may watch the first episode so I can get the advertisers information. Then I can let them know I won’t support them if they continue to advertise on this show about vets who have no business being glorified after what they did at the local shelter.
Please explain exactly what it is “they did” at the shelter.
These vets did nothing kind for the animal shelter they worked for. Their contract was revoked due to many unethical practices. They even raced the clock spaying a cat which ultimately resulted in the cats death. They are money hungry and giving them this show only further lines their pockets. They do nothing for the rescue world! Appalling.
Houston, we have a REAL problem! Give me a REAL show to watch, one where REAL people who bust their tails to rescue all the forgotten dogs in this city, not some vets who helped run a shelter into the ground. Whoever came up with a show with these people in it needs to be fired and the show put on permanent hiatus before it airs. I will NOT watch this show.
Why did you not investigate the vets you chose? Their contract was pulled from Montgomery County Animal Shelter because of the extremely poor job they did for the animals while also running off dedicated volunteers. Would not even consider watching this show. Don’t glorify people who don’t truly care about animals!
