Per The Wrap, on Texas Vets, “Dr. Diarra Blue, Dr. Aubrey Ross and Dr. Michael Lavigne navigate the balancing act of running their animal hospital and rescue while balancing family.” The Texas Vets TV show is produced by Nancy Glass Productions with Argle Bargle Films. Executive producers are Nancy Glass, Argle Bargle Films, Jairus Cobb, Shannon Biggs, and Keith Hoffman. Sarah Russell is associate producing.
Get the details from The Wrap:
The three doctors developed a strong friendship while attending Tuskegee University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and reconvened in Las Vegas where they began their careers and honed their surgery skills. After years of paying their dues, they decided to fulfill their dreams of owning their own practice and set their sights on Dr. Ross’ hometown of Houston. In 2015, Cy-Fair Animal Hospital opened its doors to service the community and their pets.
The veterinarians are dedicated to providing the best care for their patients — both human and animal, the cable channel promised. Dr. Blue’s personality keeps customers smiling and in good spirits while Dr. Ross keeps the clinic running during an often hectic work day. Dr. Lavigne is a skilled surgeon who provides balance.
With a combined experience of over 22 years and a shared love of animals, the three vets thrive to educate the public about the importance of preventative medicine in order to extend the longevity of the human animal bond.
What do you think? How do you like the sound of Texas Vets. Do you plan to watch the first season and series premiere, on Animal Planet? Tell us.
You have to check the facts before producing a show about the vets who almost destroyed animal shelter and were fired from running it because of numerous complaints ..They are well known in Houston and NOT in a good way! Will never be watching Animal Planet again. We have so many amazing vets here who dedicate their lives saving animals , donating a lot of their time and money to different rescues- and you choose these three?????????
can you post your “facts” here
How can a TV show producers be so far from reality and the truth? No. Just NO! Not after what these vets did to the animals there- their contract was revoked for a reason! Perhaps this show should be strongly reconsidered as it seems Animal Planet will lose a great deal of viewers, myself included. There are so many more great and deserving vets throughout the Houston area that deserve a series like this and as someone mentioned…the 5th Ward dogs. Instead of making these guys rich help us get better care and help for our over 1 million strays!… Read more »
Houston has one of the biggest epidemics in the country as far as stray animals and there are many rescues and vets that help aid the ongoing struggle. The fact that these vets were chosen is a slap in the face and does nothing to help with our problems here. As far as I’m concerned they do nothing to benefit our community in the aspect of animal welfare. Great idea for a show but to pick a vet that in my opinion is more worthy and deserving would be something that your audience would feel better about watching. This crap… Read more »
How ludicrous that you choose these so called vets as a basis for a TV show.
Wow…. Of all the vets in Texas, you choose THESE?! I really hope you will see there is a good reason to dig up stuff about them, after reading all the negative comments. They certainly don’t deserve any accolades.
Are you kidding me? This is not a good pick to represent Houston or the surrounding area, do your homework! Some good people in rescue are being sued because they told the TRUTH about the debacle at MCAS! Does this sound like the kind of quagmire you want to get involved with?
Must agree. Word spreads quickly. I, too, will not be watching this or any other television show that benefits anyone, who mistreat animals. You may think you’ve made it big, gentlemen, but the name you’ve made for yourselves is tarnished. This is not something to glorify, but rather to be shamed about. Your children may receive backlash from your actions. I feel sorry for the animals you took responsibility for and for your families. Please just stay out of the public eye.
There are WONDERFUL vets in the Houston area, but somehow you managed to find the WORST to make a show about. They DESTROYED one of the best animal shelters in the Houston area, neglected, practiced poor medicine on and did not FEED animals under their care, while at the same time pushing out their wonderful network of volunteers. The shelter is thankfully coming back under its former manager. These people should NOT be glorified, and especially people should not be lulled into thinking they “must be GREAT vets, since they are on APL,” and taking their poor pets there.
My thought too. of ALL the good vets in this area and you picked THESE? Their reputation here in Houston isn’t going to do your show any favors in this part of the world.
Wow. I guess the investigative team didn’t do their due diligence before deciding to utilize this vet team. There are plenty of amazing, compassionate vets in Texas. Shame on animal planet. Will not allow my children to watch this channel again. Removed from our channel list.
Dr. Blue’s sister is a producer for Animal Planet. How do you spell nepotism?
DISGRACE! Listen to the animal community. There are so many more deserving and interesting things that you could educate on. Glorifying murderers is not right. Do your research!
There is no way I will be watching this or anything else on Animal Planet. These guys are a disgrace to their profession!! They ran a shelter and killed all of the animals in the shelter. Just for money. Now you are going to glorify them for killing innocent creatures and for pocketing the money to further their own goals? This is disgusting.
Thanks for enlightening everyone about this show. Will not be watching this show. Shame on Animal Planet……
I will NOT be watching this show! They ran our local shelter into the ground and allowed for disease to run rampant. They got their contract REVOKED from that shelter because it was so bad and we in the community stepped up to show our disapproval. They used the profit they made to open this clinic… Animal planet, this is a HORRIBLE choice in shows. You should have chosen a local shelter to help showcase the over pet population we have in Texas. Sad.
Right on Jenaia! Why not The forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward? Now those people are some real heroes that are making a difference in the animal problem in our area. I will no long watch Animal Planet
Nope. I actually will not be watching anything on the animal planet anymore. These vets came in and ruined and wonderful shelter while killing animals and pocketing funds to open their own personal vet care clinic. A vet clinic, by the way, in my neighborhood, which I have pushed out to all of my neighbors and friends not to use.
Nope…Nada….Absolutely not!! Those Vets ran the Montgomery County Animal Shelter into the ground ! Animal Planet and Discovery Communications needs to do some research before they allow this to air.
https://www.facebook.com/SaveMCAS/ is a good place to start.
No way! These were the vets that ran our local shelter into the ground and had their contract REVOKED by the county. No way I will watch this garbage.
You’re not the only one!!!
Thanks to Tammy, Joey & Stacy T for your input…. the rest of us would have had no idea…. Now we won’t watch this one either. The homeless animals deserve better!
why cancel them — who needs the bates and their 20 kids or jessa and her family — my kids — this is a learning experience for my grandchildren too and i love it too!!!
