Last year, ABC began airing Resurrection — a series about people returning from the dead, based on the book The Returned by Jason Mott. It did well in its first season but tanked in the ratings in season two and is sure to be cancelled. Now, A&E has unveiled their own show called The Returned, based on the French TV show Les Revenants. Will it survive to see a second season or will it be cancelled? Stay tuned.
On The Returned, the residents of a small town have their lives turned upside down when some of their loved ones appear to return from the dead. The cast includes Mark Pellegrino, Tandi Wright, Jeremy Sisto, India Ennenga, Sophie Lowe, Mat Vairo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kevin Alejandro, Sandrine Holt, Dylan Kingwell, Aaron Douglas, Rhys Ward, Leah Gibson, Agnes Bruckner, and Michelle Forbes.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

I am so disappointed to hear this! I did not know that they were not continuing the American version! I love this show… Was probably one of my favorite series thus far;my entire family enjoyed this show! Please reconsider =(.
I don’t want to see the french version. I wanna see the end of this history with these actors!! India Ennenga, Elizabeth Winstead and others… I’ll never see a serie again without know I has an end.
I don’t get into television series that often but I absolutely LOVED The Returned, please give it a chance !! I bet you’ll be pleasantly surprised & glad that you did!! With all the garbage they’re showing on tv this day & age I am shocked you’ve cancelled this one!!! GIVE IT ANOTHER GO !!!
No sense begging for a renewal. First of all A&E could care less about these few comments and they have released the contracts of the actors do it’s over. I to liked this show and am sick that garbage like Duck Dynasty with it’s cast of racist bigots gets renewed yet again because it’s money over decency with this channel. What a shame they did not promote the show or change nights. At least the French version second season I’d on Sundance wit subtitles.
I just found out that you were not being the returned back and I have to tell you that, that is a stupid mistake. I was so relieved and excited when I found out that it was going to be aired in English that I made a group of my friends start watching it in French, just so they would be as hooked as I am when it started here. For the past couple years, it seems like every show I fall in love with gets cancelled. I’m very sad to see that A&E didn’t renew “The Returned” for a second season. This is EXTREMELY upsetting, since the end of Season #1 left the audience hanging. I was totally anticipating what would happen to the characters and how the plot would progress when the show “returned.” I thought this was an excellent program, with plot twists that kept the viewers guessing. I really started to get into this show. The shows plot was almost the opposite direction of another non-action packed show called The Leftovers that I also love and had concerns about the renewal of a second season. I’m a little sick of crime dramas and spin offs of crime dramas and female versions of crime dramas…its out of hand. The leftovers, the returned, Mr Robot and shows of this caliber (sci-fi, NOT a crime drama!) are shows that have depth and are written to make you engage by THINKING. I really hope that they bring back this show so much. Me and my mom started watching it months ago and we love it!! we’ve been waiting so long for season 2, to just find out that it’s been cancelled! I’m so gutted about this news as it was definitely one of my favourite series to watch ever! It was a brilliant and intense show to watch and I love it so much! I would love this series to have another chance. I am from the UK and it has been the first US show that I have liked very much. It seems very short-sighted of the people who make these decisions not to think of the many people overseas who watch it also and now it has been left in limboland. I know there is a french version also being shown now and it has been given a second series. Please give this show another chance and show the second season. It is really great show. My friends and I love it. Maybe advertise it as much as you do other shows and people will tune in and love it as much as we all do. Please bring it back.
