MTV is bringing author Terry Brooks’ post-apocalyptic Shannara series to life in January 2016.
The Shannara Chronicles stars Ivana Baquero, Manu Bennett, Emilia Burns, Austin Butler, Poppy Drayton, Aaron Jakubenko, and John Rhys-Davies. MTV’s parent-company, Viacom, describes the series:
“The Shannara Chronicles” is an epic television event based on the sweeping, best-selling fantasy book series by Terry Brooks. Set thousands of years in the future, the story follows three heroes, Elf-Human hybrid Wil, Elvin Princess Amberle, and Human Rover Eretria, as they embark on a quest to stop an evil Demon army from destroying the world.

I’ve read Terry Brooks and would really like to see the whole Shanara series made into movies, and I could suggest a couple others.
So many Science Fiction / Fantasy Fiction shows are canceled so we can Keep up with the Kardasians, Remodel & Flip Houses or some other Ridiculous Reality Show, it’s Nice to be able to Escape Reality and let Fantasy take you on a journey that stimulates the Imagination!
Will they be putting season one out on Blue ray etc…….
I sincerely hope so! Even though I had our DVR set to record them, it missed a couple of episodes & I can’t watch it online as our cable provider isn’t available on MTV.com.
I’m going to be honest, I think this looks pretty cool. However, some of the fans on the Facebook page are ******** and it’s kinda making me not want anything to do with a show/series that has fans like that.
I think MTV went to **** after they stopped showing music videos and let Kanye on but this show looks BADASS! I want to see it!!!!

Looks and sounds like something I (and many others) will really get into. Am waiting with great anticipation for 2016, thanks MTV for finally airing something, other than that “millinial” dribble, that a mature person can appreciate. My opinion, thanks …
