Though Simon Cowell indicated that The X Factor would be renewed for the 2014-15 season, FOX Chairman Kevin Reilly says a decision hasn’t been made yet.
At today’s TCA session, Reilly also said, “The show underperformed this year. Simon himself would admit that. If the show were to come back, it would not be in the current format that we have.”
According to TV Line, Reilly confirmed that Cowell’s role on-screen could be eliminated or diminshed.
A decision is expected to be made in the next month or so.

I like the X-factor. I say keep it on. I agree with getting judges with the critiquing qualities of Simon. I like the honesty of Simon. Keep the X-factor ON!

The fewer singing reality shows on TV the better. CAN IT.
i think there are way too many singing shows………….i liked simon on idol but wasn’t happy with X factor……………..I’m all for more 1 hour dramas…lets get back to some good tv shows……………i am soooooooooo over reality shows…………..way too many
Cancel this awful singing show, it is terrible!!!!! Watched the first season, because I liked the judges, then it got really bad, haven’t seen it sense, only a sec. hear and there. For those few seconds I spent watching it I wanted to puke!!
Cancel, and never look back. It’s the least they could do considering they canceled so many other good dramas and sitcoms.

No, they don’t need to cancel it, just change it a bit. The judges, Simon excluded, aren’t of a high caliber and don’t seem to be at a level to judge competition. I’d like to see judges along the likes of Simon. He was great on American Idol and wasn’t afraid to speak the truth, even though it may hurt the contestants’ feelings.
