Simon Cowell and FOX expected the US version of The X Factor to be a big hit in the ratings but it never lived up to expectations. Cowell announced that he was leaving the show last February and it was then cancelled after three seasons.
Now, the Mirror reports that Cowell is planning to depart the UK version of the show once again so that he can return to the States to relaunch the American version. According to the article, execs at Cowell’s Syco company have pitched the revival to FOX and it’s been well received.
Back on November 7th, in response to a fan’s tweet about missing the US version of The X Factor, Cowell tweeted, “So Do I”.

I think it would be extraordinary its not just entertainment but its a start to a person’s life dreams. It gives another chance to one or more americans to become a star!
I agree!! and it seems x factor IS one of the best reality tv shows to do that. i mean look at cher lloyd and one direction 🙂

As long as they keep it the same format as they did last years.
I also watch the X Factor UK and it was similar, however this year they changed to be similar to the American Idol Format which I don’t care for.

Just when you thought you were safe, this crud comes back on the air. But what do you expect from FOX? All their shows are tanking, so they bring back a bad show to replace a really bad show.
It can’t do worse than Utopia did this fall on Fox. (But that’s not saying much.)
