Tyrant was cancelled after just three seasons on FX, and the reasons behind the shocking cancellation have now been revealed. Bert Salke, the FOX 21 President, spoke about those reasons with The Hollywood Reporter.
Salke said the following:
“We knew after the second year and were really aware that for a show we felt so strongly about — and the fan base felt so strongly about — that the numbers weren’t commensurate with the base for the show. Nobody was more aware than the FX people and John wanted to get in front of it. Chris, Howard and the studio went in with very open eyes and hoping for the best. We were getting behind it the same way we do every year and preparing for any number of outcomes. There were no surprises.”
There is hope that the series will return. Tyrant is being actively shopped to streaming services. It could land on Netflix or Hulu.

It was a very good show but had a terrible ending. Should never have ended that way. I just watched it on Hulu. Bring back its ending

I just finished watching the last ep of the 3rd season. I found the writing became weaker with long dialogs and slow ,drawn out scenes dedicated to romantic drama and moments of grief.. …most likely added to fill time! I also felt “Sammy´s” character evolved from “bright, opinionated late teens /early 20´s something” to ,confused gay man falling in and out of love with a consistent look of teariness ! I watched Tyrant on FX with a passion and enjoyed it sooooo much. I was devastated when I read that it was not being renewed on FX. I don’t have Netflix or Hulu but was visiting my niece over Christmas and discovered another season which I enthusiastically watched and stayed up all night to watch. Now I don’t know if there will be another season. I can’t believe that there was not enough viewer interest. Excellent cast and one of the best shows I’ve seen. I would absolutely want to see it return.
i hardly watch tv series.. but this is one of a kind that i really felt deeply and also learn from. Id really love to have watched more of it

Incredible show. Great characters and a great storyline. Keeps you on the edge of your seat and draws you in to each episode. I’ve watched all three seasons twice now and each time I see something new that I missed.
