canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

This Is Us, Chicago Fire, Good Place, Will & Grace: NBC Shaking Up Fall 2017 Schedule

by Jessica Pena, May 30, 2017

NBC is sticking with what works. After announcing This Is Us would be moving to Thursdays this fall, the network has now revealed the show will stay put on Tuesday nights, TVLine reports.

The schedule change means this fall will see the return of an all-comedy lineup for Thursday nights, with Superstore at 8 p.m. ET/PT, The Good Place at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT, Will & Grace at 9 p.m. ET/PT, and Great News at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Keeping This Is Us on Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. also moves the upcoming series Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders to 10 p.m. ET/PT on Tuesdays and Chicago Fire to 10 p.m. ET/PT on Thursdays.

Here’s the altered NBC fall 2017 schedule:

TUESDAYS
8 pm The Voice
9 pm This Is Us
10 pm Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders

THURSDAYS
8 pm  Superstore
8:30 pm  The Good Place
9 pm  Will & Grace
9:30 pm  Great News
10 pm  Chicago Fire”

I’m upset that Chicago Fire is pushed back later in the wk, but by the time I get to watch almost each new ep on Hulu, it’s after Thursday, so in a way it works out. I just don’t want it losing viewership and then gets canceled. My no.1 fav show, every ep is AMAZING & ends with me wanting more!

I love the idea of having a back to back comedy night on Thursdays again. I only wish Trial & Error would replace the Great News slot for the fall rather than waiting until spring/summer for season 2. Trial & Error is such a better show than Great News!

That’s when it’s on when it was on Tuesdays. And it works for them. Thursday’s needs a good show in that time slot.

Love the Chicago shows but very disappointed they didn’t pick up the court one. It was a great show. They can get rid of the good place & good news, too! Yuk!
But I love THIS IS US, as well.

Love the Chicago series. Upset what NBC did with Chicago Med. Was not really into Justice. Not really happy with the way NBC is doing there lineups. Think Chicago Fire should stay on Tuesday nighr

Both of those shows are winners for NBC. They have a steady viewer base now. So they’re going to put them where they have had a tough time getting viewers.

NBC keeps Superstore (which I think is dumb), yet cancel’s Chicago Justice. If the networks would leave TV shows on a specific day and at a specific time, and quit rearranging and quit putting them on long hiatuses, then maybe some of these good shows that never really get a chance to get their footing, would survive. Or, if a new show isn’t garnering the coveted demographics THEN try moving it to another night that maybe would be more convenient for that demographic to watch. With the technology out there today, and all the competing networks, TV shows need to… Read more »

As long as the move for Chicago does not interfere with anything, it is OK. I am glad this is us in staying on Tuesday. Such a fab. show.

Why are you moving Chicago Fire? Now I won’t watch. Ecause Thursdays are Shonda nights. Should have left it alone

I will follow my fave shows, like CF any night they are on, but it will take remembering they were moved, or making sure DVR is set for series taping.

I’m pissed that Chicago Fire has been moved to Thursdays. It has been on Tuesday since it started. Just means that my Tuesday is only cbs shows.

I agree. I always look forward to getting off work on Tuesdays to Chicago Fire. Tuesdays are my Mondays. So Chicago Fire was always a great end to a stressful start of the week. Booo

I am totally with you. It is stupid that a show that has been on Tuesday for 5 seasons is being moved for a show that has been of for only one season.
