Here are the updated America’s Got Talent TV show ratings. Howard Stern replaces Piers Morgan as the third judge, joining Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel. Nick Cannon returns as host. The seventh season of America’s Got Talent typically airs twice a week on the NBC network. (Here’s the second night’s ratings.)
These are the TV show’s ratings for the Summer 2012 season, the best way to tell if America’s Got Talent is going to be cancelled or renewed for season eight.

NBC has moved the show from Tuesdays and Wednesdays to Mondays and Tuesdays this season. It wasn’t a great start for the competition. Compared to last year’s season premiere, NBC was down by 16% in the demo (vs a 4.3) and down by 33% in viewership (vs 15.28 million). Still, these numbers are quite good when compared to the rest of NBC’s programming.
Reference point: Last season, the first night of episodes averaged a 3.5 in the demo with 13.67 million.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

If you keep Howard Stern on as a judge, I will sternly turn off the show! Dump the rude ignoramus. Your ratings will plummet!
I used to love watching AGT. It’s my favorite TV show. Season 6 with Piers was the best but this season with Howard is the worst. He is rude, disrespectful, uneducated and untalented. If they still keep Haward on the show, I’m afraid this will be the last season that I’ll be watching.
Cancel… Poor talent. Nick is the only entertainment on the show.
I am neither a fan or critic of Howard Stern and wasn’t sure if he was right for this show. But the times I tuned in I found I agreed with him more often than I had the other judges in his critique of the act. I find Howie to be the less acceptable judge, having less judgment as to what is talent. I can’t believe the poor quality acts Howie Mandel said yes to last year and so far this year.
I will not watch until Howard Stern is gone!
Wow the venom spewed from the haters. Howard has always been polarizing but this is ridiculous. I hope the haters just shut off the tv,and stare at the wall. That is about all their brains can handle. HEY NOW!!!!
I don’t like Stern either, but at least there are two other judges that I like!
But about Stern, he brings the positivity of the show down IMO. His whole presence isn’t right for a family show like AGT. Why did Piers have to leave? Just cuz he was strict and straightforward, doesn’t mean he wasn’t entertaining!
With acts like this who cares about the judges. This was a waste of 2 hours of my life. So stupid!
The addition of Howard Stern is AMAZING A++++++.
Anyone who say’s they don’t like Howard obviously doesn’t know anything about him. He has been nothing but friendly and is a FANTASTIC judge for Americas Got Talent. You Calling him a piece of Garbage and S#@% just say’s what type of a person you are. The trash you have spewed on this board makes you know better of a person then the person you despise. What has he done to you that is so Horrible and you can’t watch a show because of it, let me guess, Nothing! How about you at least give him and the show a chance, you just might be happily surprised. Once you have watched the show, then you can make an intelligent decision on what you do and don’t like about the show. Until then, it’s probably best to keep your thoughts to yourself. This country has been built on Freedom of Speech and Expression. That doesn’t apply to just some. So how is it any different that you come on the board to belittle someone and use vulgar language while doing so?
The show is now so much better then it ever has. Bravo NBC!!!!

I can’t believe that America’s Got Talet brought that piece of low life garbage stern on the show. I have loved this show and couldn’t wait to watch it every season, nothing would get in my. I would schedule my life around this great show. However, I refuse to watch this season with that low life piece of s— sitting as a judge. No thanks!!!

The show is stupid but at least Stern makes it fun to watch. I couldn’t make it through 1 episode previous seasons.
… i have to agree … Stern is bad choice for AGT !!! … not funny and his “trips” to the stage are annoying !!! …. i used to watch this show with my family every summer, now after couple of weeks we don’t want to watch it anymore … Howie Mandel was very good choice … Stern should stick to what he is doing the best … trashing and making fun of porn stars …
