To no surprise, NBC has renewed America’s Got Talent for an 11th season next summer. Casting dates were announced for Detroit, New York, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, San Jose, San Diego, Kansas City, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Orlando, and Dallas.
The reality competition is the highest-rated summer series on all of the broadcast networks. The Tuesday editions are currently averaging a 2.35 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.65 million viewers. The Wednesday editions have been averaging a 1.6 in the demo with 8.65 million.
It hasn’t been announced if Nick Cannon, Howie Mandel, Mel B, or Heidi Klum will be returning for the new season or where the series will be shot. The show currently films in New York and had been moved there to accomodate judge Howard Stern. Earlier this summer, Stern announced that he was leaving the show after four seasons so production may move back to Los Angeles.
The current 10th season is scheduled to conclude on Wednesday, September 16th.
