Aquarius will not air its second season on NBC until later this year, but the future already has its future planned out. David Duchovny, who stars on the NBC series, spoke about the future of the NBC drama during an interview with Variety.
How many seasons does Aquarius want to have on the air? Five, according to Duchovny. He said:
“John McNamara, the creator and showrunner, has five 13-episode seasons in mind,” he says. “If we’re lucky and enough people get involved and watch us, we’ll get to do five. It would be a shame not to. The investment is in the first couple of years, heading towards the catastrophic events of the Tate-LaBianca murders with the Manson family. It’s really the aftermath of that that’s the heart of the show. I hope we get to do it.”

I was 17 when this happened, and it’s still a fascinating story. Can some of us adult viewers have something on TV that we enjoy? But probably this show is too taxing for the brains of most Americans today. It’ll probably be cancelled in favor of another reality or game show. Which is what we need, of course. There can’t be too many of those, right??

I remember all of this news. I was 15 in 1969, and the Manson murders were unbelievably shocking. It is a time that has been beautifully cast, well written and brought to the screen as a show series that needs to continue. The set up and stories leading up to and after the grizzly murders are as important as the murders and Manson iteself. So do us all a favor who enjoy well written and acted TV shows. I was 22 the summer of ’69 and we’ll remember the entire Tate/LaBiana/Manson saga. Great show, hope it lasts five season, won’t miss 1 episode! It’s like a walk down memory lane and my youth again.
Exactly! This s how I feel. I don’t think younger people can appreciate how impt this event was, or how it affected our whole culture at the time. One of the 1st serial murderers in the nation. We were all in shock.
