by Trevor Kimball, December 9, 2015

Bitten TV show of Syfy canceled, no season 4It’s been announced that there won’t be a fourth season of the Bitten TV show. The supernatural Canadian series, which airs on Syfy in the United States, will return for its third and final season in 2016. Season three will kick off on February 12th in Canada but a US launch date hasn’t been announced yet.

Here’s the press release from Bell Media.

The Last Bite is the Deepest: Third and Final Season of Original Canadian Thriller BITTEN Premieres February 12 on Space

– Season 3 of smash-hit series gets new Fridays at 10 p.m. ET timeslot beginning February 12 –
– Season 1 streaming on CraveTV in the Sci-Fi & Fantasy collection and on Space.ca; Season 2 to launch January 15 –

TORONTO (December 9, 2015) – After gallons of blood spilled, hundreds of shirts ripped, and countless Muttsslain, Space confirmed today that its hit original series BITTEN returns for its third and final season February 12 in a new Fridays at 10 p.m. ET timeslot. Iconic genre star Laura Vandervoort (SMALLVILLE, Ted) returns to helm the sexy thriller as the embattled Elena Michaels, the world’s only female werewolf. Season 3 of the 10-episode, one-hour series delves into the theme of duty versus family, and the lengths one will go to keep both intact. Space also revealed today a chilling sneak peek at Season 3 of BITTEN.

Season 3 picks up several months after the harrowing battle in the Season 2 finale. Bolstering their ranks in the wake of the carnage The Pack is on the hunt for a dangerous group of traitorous Mutts lead by former Spanish Alpha, Eduardo Escobado (Mishka Thébaud, SAVING HOPE). Meanwhile, Elena struggles with Pack Alpha Jeremy Danvers’ (Greg Bryk, A History Of Violence, THE BOOK OF NEGROES) new draconian leadership style, and makes a shocking and surprising discovery about herself.

“With the incomparable Laura Vandervoort at the helm, BITTEN was a ferocious drama from the get-go and we are so proud to have seen it make its mark in the television landscape from its home on Space,” said Tracey Pearce, Senior Vice-President, Specialty and Pay, Bell Media. “Along with the many devoted fans, we cannot wait to see what happens with Elena and the rest of The Pack as the BITTEN saga finally culminates in Season 3.”

“We are grateful to our broadcast partners at Space for three seasons of support,” said Executive Producer and Director, J.B. Sugar. “Season 3 takes us back to our werewolf roots and, with our strongest scripts and performances yet, I am confident fans in Canada and around the world are going to be hungry for more.”

“Alongside J.B., the entire cast and crew and our incredible broadcast partners, we are excited to deliver this powerful upcoming season to the show’s loyal fans who are chomping at the bit for more,” said John Morayniss, CEO, eOne Television.

In the Season 3 premiere episode, “Family, of Sorts” (Friday, Feb. 12 at 10 p.m. ET), in order to solidify his power, a war-hardened Jeremy has tasked Elena, Clay, and Nick with recruiting all North American Mutts into The Pack. But, when an unknown werewolf sniper takes a shot at the Alpha, The Pack must adjust course to track down those responsible. Meanwhile, Elena is accosted by a mysterious stranger who challenges her with a shocking claim.

Season 3 of BITTEN also sees the return of Pack members Clayton Danvers (Greyston Holt, ALCATRAZ, DURHAM COUNTY) and Nick Sorrentino (Steve Lund, BEING ERICA, HAVEN). Also returning are Tommie-Amber Pirie (Michael: Tuesdays & Thursdays) as Paige Winterbourne, and Genelle Williams (REMEDY, WAREHOUSE 13) as Rachel Sutton. New to the cast this season is John Ralston (DEGRASSI), Alex Ozerov(ORPHAN BLACK), and Sofia Banzhaf (REPUBLIC OF DOYLE), mysterious new characters who throw Elena’s and The Pack’s lives into disarray.

Throughout its run, Season 2 of BITTEN made Space the #1 specialty network in its timeslot across all key Adult and Female demos during its timeslot (Saturdays at 9 p.m. ET). Viewers who have yet to join The Pack can stream BITTEN Season 1 on CraveTVTM right now in the Sci-Fi & Fantasy collection or online at Bitten.Space.ca. Season 2 of the sexy thriller joins the CraveTV lineup on Friday, Jan. 15.

BITTEN is executive produced by J.B. Sugar (THE COLLECTOR, JPOD) for No Equal Entertainment, John Barbisan and Patrick Banister (WHISTLER) for Hoodwink Entertainment, and Tecca Crosby and John Morayniss for Entertainment One (eOne). Daegan Fryklind (MOTIVE, THE LISTENER) is Showrunner. Executive Producers Fryklind and Wil Zmak return to write for Season 3. Also in the writing room are Larry Bambrick, Jenn Engels, and Garfield Lindsay Miller.

BITTEN is produced by No Equal Entertainment, Hoodwink Entertainment, and eOne in association with Space and Bell Media, with the participation of Rogers Cable Network Fund and Cogeco Program Development Fund, the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit and the Canada Media Fun. Rebecca DiPasquale and Carrie Paupst Shaughnessy are Production Executives, Drama, Bell Media. Tom Hastings is Director of Drama, Independent Production, Bell Media. Corrie Coe is Senior Vice-President, Independent Production, Bell Media. Tracey Pearce is Senior Vice-President, Specialty and Pay, Bell Media. Randy Lennox is President, Entertainment Production and Broadcasting, Bell Media.

What do you think? Do you like the Bitten TV show? Do you think it should be ending with season three?

If you are going to cancel this you should give us a season 4 with a prepared way to end like you did with others series like human being and lost girls don’t just leave us with no future like Elena getting married and having the first girl werewolf. Not just like this . Think of your watchers.

since when has Friday been a bad day to have a show on? With all the different ways of recording and/or watching a show, there are no bad days. I love this show, always look forward to watching it. Wish it had more episodes. I work at night and use my DVR to record and watch when I can. I am not sure that SYFY (USA) even knows what that is. CSI, James Bond and horror movies are NOT SYFY. And who wants to watch ghost hunters 24/7 with a bunch of people running around in the dark scaring themselves.… Read more »

I love this show. Those who stream it from the Canadian site have screwed it up for the rest of us. I hope they give the show a proper finale and don’t just leave everything hanged. Maybe the us syfy should pick it up.

What!! Another one gone. You have got to be kidding. What the heck is SyFy thinking? This is a great show and I have look forward to it being on. My opinion of this station is getting less and less.

Another Canadian show gone! A quality one at that! Showcase just screwed up by losing Lost Girl & Rookie Blue. SYFY has a disaster on its hands with Dark Matter & that was re-newed. Maybe Netflix will smarten up & pick up Bitten. What a shame. Sure hope they renew Jessica Jones!!!
