canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

BrainDead: Cancelled by CBS; No Season Two

by Cindy McLennan, October 17, 2016

BrainDead TV show cancelled by CBS; no season two.

The BrainDead TV show has been cancelled after its first season on CBS. Deadline reports the summer series’ cancellation is due to low ratings. No surprise, there.

A comedic political thriller, the BrainDead cast includes: Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Danny Pino, Aaron Tveit, Tony Shalhoub, Nikki M. James, Johnny Ray Gill, Charlie Semine, and Jan Maxwell.

Created by The Good Wife‘s Robert and Michelle King, BrainDead is set in the world of Washington, DC politics. Fresh-faced, Laurel Healy (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) has returned home to Washington, DC to work for her brother, Senator Luke Healy (Danny Pino) on Capitol Hill.

What do you think? Did you watch the first season of the BrainDead TV series? Do you think BrainDead should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season on CBS? Sound off in the comments.

I loved Brain Dead! It was clever and a great way to laugh at our dysfunction government. I was looking forward to season 2. Guess it was a bit too truthful for the overlords.

What are they thinking? Best show in years. I was excited for season 2 and now it’s cancelled. Bad move folks.

I have been eagerly awaiting for Season 2 of Brain Dead to return and relieve the boredom of Summer TV. I just read that it has been canceled and I’m really bummed. This was a show that poked fun at Washington in a clever, non-threatening way that was pure entertainment. I hope another network picks-up this show because I think it needs another season to catch on.

I can’t freaking believe this show isn’t coming back!!! WOW!! For the first time I find a funny, engaging political show and it’s CANCELLED!! Really makes me wonder who gets to decide which shows stay and which ones get the ax. There are some T V shows that have been on forever that are the worst things to watch!! I mean really, The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Ninja Warrior, Smackdown Wrestling, The Apprentice with Donald Trump, Married at First Sight, Keeping up with the Kardashians, shall I go on?!?! There are a crap load of shows on that should of never… Read more »

I absolutely loved the wit and comedy of the show, not to mention the great performances! I finally found a series with wit and true comedy sense. Would love to see it back! It needs another chance!! Most people had never heard of it and think they would love it too!

I loved this show! I guess CBS is too afraid to fight against the new Presidential Administration. There are a lot of really stupid shows that just keep coming back. But the really thought provoking ones just go away without any chance to recover the ratings. Come on CBS let’s keep this one around for a while!

It was my favorite show last summer – be like the cable networks and show it more than once. Give people the chance to watch it.

Loved Brain dead. It was so true to life. I’m bummed. Truth is so hard to take. It was fresh with some new actors and new ideas. Funny funny. Laughed a lot. You didn’t give it a chance. Most people I talked to said they hadn’t heard of it. Much better than infomercials and reality shows. I wouldn’t care anymore if I had main channels. Only good thing on is the Dream Teaam on Sat. Mornings. Too many darn commercials.

though a bit confusing at the beginning, and a little absurd, the theory of Washington being to removed from actually getting things done, is not..

That’s really disappointing! This show was the best new show I’d seen in a while.
