canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Criminal Minds: Season 13; Kirsten Vangsness & A.J. Cook May Not Return

by Jessica Pena, May 22, 2017

Criminal Minds TV show on CBS: (canceled or renewed?)

Criminal Minds has already been renewed for a 13th season, but will the whole cast return? Deadline reports stars Kirsten Vangsness and A.J. Cook may be leaving the CBS TV series.

The long-running crime procedural follows a unique team of profilers for the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) at Quantico, Virginia. The cast includes Vangsness, Cook, Matthew Gray Gubler, Paget Brewster, Joe Mantegna, Adam Rodriguez, Damon Gupton, and Aisha Tyler

According to Deadline, both Vangsness and Cook have asked for equal pay with their male co-stars, and so far contract negotiations have reached a dead end. In 2013, the duo successfully negotiated a raise after being paid “less than half of what their male counterparts including Gubler and Shemar Moore were making.”

However, now it’s unclear if the result will be the same. Both Vangsness and Cook have reportedly said they will leave Criminal Minds if their request for equal pay is denied. Neither ABC Studios nor CBS have made a public comment on the negotiations.

What do you think? Do you watch Criminal Minds? Would you watch without Vangsness and Cook?

No,it would not be the same without them.I won’t watch it if they leave. It was hard enough when Morgan left.

No i wouldn’t want to watch it. The last cast change was very bad choice still waiting for show to correct this mistake not make more bad choices by failing to replace 2 members.

Of course they deserve equal pay and I too will not continue to watch unless they are satisfied. ABC films and CBS need to get with the times!

I won’t watch if Penelope is gone or if JJ leaves They tried to get rid of JJ before and they brought her back. Penelope is integral to the show. How about getting rid of Damon Gupton. That guy is BORING, has no personality and doesn’t fit with the team. This is 2017 and women should be paid equally. Maybe Joe should get a bit more because he’s who he is, but for Pete’s sake, get with the program and pay them what they deserve. Hope they have good agents. If they are gone, then so am I.

I’m really not sure on this one I love Criminal Minds and have watched every episode. But bit Penelope and JJ are pivotal to the makeup of the show. Penelope could not be replaced and I may not watch if she goes.

Give them what they are asking ! They both have played huge parts in making ‘criminal minds’ successful. Get Gary Sinese as the top guy if you’re really not going to bring Hotch back as the team leader. Nothing against Paget Brewster except that she is a better team member than team leader.

I will not watch if these two characters leave. What’s the problem giving these two essential actors their fair share.

I am not watching it now since Baby Boy and Hotch are gone. And definitely would never watch it if AJ and Vangiass don’t return!!! I think its wrong and they are going to lose a lot more viewers than they already have and thats a shame.

I can’t believe this question is even being asked! Why on earth wouldn’t you pay actors equally? Should you pay them by the number of words they speak?

i am so sad if A J COOK and KRISTEN VANGNESS leave the show, they are beautiful genius and marvellous, i cross the fingers and i hope that they stay again in CRIMINAL MINDS, i love so much all casting of CM without exception but if they leave the show its so sad, i wishes for A J COOK and KRISTEN VANGNESS good luck and i pray so strong that their contract is renewed for a very long times, best regards

Why on earth would CBS think it’s okay to pay actresses less than actors!? I can not understand their reasoning. They all do the same job, bloody well pay them the same wage! It’s the 21st Century, when is CBS going to get with the program. If Kristin & A.J. leaves, so do I & my friends – many of whom by the way – are already on the brink of giving it up because of the departure of Shamar Moore and Thomas Gibson.

They should get equal pay as their counterparts. this is pay discrimination and it is a practice that needs to be stopped. No I won’t watch if they leave. They are part of the reason the show has been so successful.
