Has The Crown TV show been renewed for a second season, before its first season drops to Netflix? The Crown, season two, is in early pre-production with filming slated for fall, 2016, according to a report on industry resource, The Knowledge. A 10 hour-long episode drama series, created and written by Peter Morgan, The Crown follows the English Royal Family. Claire Foy stars as Queen Elizabeth II with Matt Smith as Prince Phillip. John Lithgow is Sir Winston Churchill. Victoria Hamilton plays the Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. Jared Harris is King George VI. Vanessa Kirby plays Princess Margaret. Dame Eileen Atkins is Queen Mary.
