Will there be more Deutschland 83? A recent Radio Times article hinted that there may be two more seasons in store for the German-language SundanceTV series.
Deutschland 83 premiered in the United States this past summer.
The historical series follows Martin Rauch (Jonas Nay), a young East German sent into West Germany as a spy during the early 1980s. The drama has become one of Germany’s most successful TV shows and the highest-rated foreign language drama in the U.K.
According to the Radio Times, the series was planned as a trilogy, with two more seasons following the life of Rauch in 1986 and 1989. Earlier, we reported that the series’ creators were interested in making a second season.
The first season of Deutschland 83 is currently streaming on Hulu.

I really wish they would come back with more than a trilogy. There would be way too many loose ends…. like who pulled the trigger at the end of the season? Where did his aunt go, and why was she going? Was she really a traitor?
But I’ll take the trilogy if it ties up loose ends, and they better hurry up with it because I am really jonesing for this show.

Says the person who can’t spell believer. Not all the best drama comes from the UK or US- Deutschland 83 proves that. British and American shows are shown in other countries, so what is wrong with foreign shows being shown where you are? The possibility of a second and third series will be very welcoming news
One of the dumbest comments I’ve ever read… demanding a German show to convert to English. Maybe some of the actors don’t speak English and dubbing the show would just ruin it. If you’re having problems reading then go back to school or don’t watch the show at all.
