TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Best show I’ve seen in years.Great writing, great acting and storyline.Looked forward to it every week.Bring the show back.
It’s a shame this good show got cancelled. I can’t believe some of the stupid shows that keep getting renewed and good one that require people to use their brain get dumped. I looked forward to this show every week. Bring it back!!
I liked the shown because it was a nice mystery show. I hope this show comes back, and quick. They are all good actors.. It was a nice clean show, a light murder caper, like Hart to Hart, the Thin Man, and others. I will miss it!
I find myself watching fewer and fewer hours of network television, but ‘Forever’ was one of the handful of shows that kept drawing me back to the TV. Intelligent, intriguing, and well-written, it was miles above the reality-driven trash that seems to be taking over the airwaves.
I strongly urge that this show be reinstated, or at least picked up by another network or cable channel.
ABC is losing it! They’re keeping the “reality garbage.” They’re getting rid of all the good shows. It’s a darn shame! I was enjoying this show, the story lines, characters, and inventiveness of it all. Hope some other network wakes up to the fans’ needs & picks it up.
I loved this show!! Why the hell would you cancel it!!!??? It’s was VERY interesting, great actors, great story lines.Even my 8 year old son loved it !! Bring it back!! Or have another network pick it up please!! 🙁
Again I was upset by another TV series that was different, Interesting….I loved it and looked forward to watching it ever week. Please reconsider and keep these good TV shows going, and dump all the garbage that airs every week.
You are so right, Toni!!!!
I am sick of a lot of the stuff they keep on.
Anything fresh and different get’s the ax.
It was a show I looked forward to every week. Mystery, drama and a bit of history. Somebody pick this show up!
Please do not cancel this series. It is the best series out there. it leave a lot to the imagination and the character are intriguing. I rather see this show than all the reality shows out there.
PLEASE BRING IT BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree!
One of the better new shows that I thought should have a few more seasons. Loved the story, the plot and the cast. Hoping and praying that Forever has a chance to be picked up by another venue like Netflix or HULU. I have both and enjoy them.
Netflix & Hulu DON’T produce shows . . . . they offer RERUN episodes of TV shows or movies that have made their run in theaters. Good luck trying to find what ‘your’ looking for . . . . it ain’t gonna happen!
We need a Network that will take on the show. The writers cast and premise of this great show. Let’s see if anyone has the guts to step forward and take a great show over from the network ABC that brings you dancing With The Stars and other intellectual shows.
Maybe ABC can replace this show with Cooking or Dancing with Honey Boo Boo. That would hit their level.
In response to Donna – from the page off of Netflix – “Netflix is an on-demand internet streaming media provider. It has distributed a number of Netflix-exclusive programs, including original series such as House of Cards and Orange Is the New Black, among specials, miniseries, and films such as The Square (2013), which was nominated for an Academy Award, the first nomination for a Netflix production. In addition to its original productions, Netflix’s exclusive programming contains continuations of previously canceled series from other channels, including Arrested Development, The Killing, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Trailer Park Boys and Longmire.” So… Read more »
Shoudnt cancel good show
BRING IT BACK
Great show! Why good shows get cancelled and stupid shows get renew. Bring Forever back!
There are fewer and fewer shows worth the time watching but I found FOREVER to be so intriguing. I’ve loved the mystery but if this show goes I”m afraid so do I !
Unfortunately this show was canceled because it is a very smart, intelligent show. For some reason, that seems to happen to the smart shows and not the insipid, stupid shows that seem to continue “forever”. I shall miss this show very much. ABC…..wake up!!!
You’ve got it right! With all the trash on TV, it was nice to have a good drama, well-acted, interesting, different, fun, INTELLIGENT. That is what we’re missing these days! They leave that garbage on and get rid of really wonderful dramas. It’s happened before with ABC – they did it with Eli Stone (and the fans got a second season!), and they did it with Life on Mars, which was just wonderful. Jerks.
