At this morning’s FX upfront presentation, the cable channel announced that Justified has been renewed for a fifth season.
The renewal doesn’t come as a surprise considering that season four’s ratings have been just as solid as the previous three seasons’ — averaging 2.43 million total viewers and a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The fourth season finale airs next Tuesday and season five will premiere in January 2014.

Justified – Love it!
Jan 2014 is too long to wait. Really wish season 5 started tomorrow. Love this show. I watch a lot of TV, and “Justified” is by far one of the best shows on all of TV. If FX were ever to cancel this show, I would only hope that another network would pick it up. One other thing, the cast is great.

Justified deserved a 2-season renewal. But that aside, I’m thrilled my current, favorite show is coming back next season for more stories about Raylan and Boyd and the marshals and gang in Harlan County, KY. Each character (regulars and guest starring roles) are so perfectly written and acted. It’s like watching an Olympic event in ‘verbal sparring’ with each wisecrack, double cross, triple cross better than the last. Fantastic!!

This is fantastic news. Justified is my favourite show ever and even though we’re only on season three here in the UK, it’s good to know there’s a lot more Raylan coming my way. Thank you FX – belated and all but you rock for this.
