Though it hasn’t been a ratings success, ABC has kept Nashville on the air. Will the numbers continue to fall this season? Is there a chance that it could be cancelled or is it essentially guaranteed to be renewed for a fourth season (because of potential syndication profits)? We’ll have to wait and see.
The Nashville TV show continues to follow the lives and careers of country music superstars Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) and Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton). The rest of the cast includes Clare Bowen, Eric Close, Charles Esten, Sam Palladio, Jonathan Jackson, Chris Carmack, Lennon Stella, Maisy Stella, Will Chase, and Oliver Hudson.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: ABC has renewed Nashville for a fourth season.
Final season averages: 1.34 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.16 million total viewers.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
For comparisons: The second season of Nashville averaged a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.34 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Nashville TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a fourth season?
Please don’t cancel. I really love this show. I look forward to Wednesday nights. You can however just get rid of Teddy. 🙂
Please don’t cancel. It seems to be more and more rare that you can find an interesting TV show. I’m so over the ‘reality’ shows. They just continue to be boring and the same thing over and over. Nashville has a lot of talent. Maybe if the network had it on at 9 pm instead of 10 pm the ratings would be better. Try putting Survivor, Amazing Race, Bachelor, etc on the 10 pm spot and see if their ratings are affected!
One of my favorite shows. I always have to watch it On Demand because I don’t stay up late enough to watch when it actually comes on, but I’m a faithful viewer. Please don’t cancel!
OMG.!!!!this show CAN NOT be canceled.this is a really good show .i love it .Great talent.good story line overall GREAT.!!! Please keep the show .RENEW RENEW RENEW !!!!!
I love Nashville–my favorite program. Most other shows on TV are junk! Please keep it going……
Totally love the show. I could watch it forever. Please do not cancel it.
My friends and I love Nashville! There are still a lot of story lines to be pursued. PLEASE don’t cancel this show!!! The music is far better than anything country radio is playing today!
I totally enjoy Nashville and look forward to each new episode! I love following the storylines of the characters, which are always captivating and hot! Plus the music is of the highest quality: beautiful melodies, fantastic vocals, terrific lyrics, fabulous arrangements, and top notch instrumentals! This fan would really appreciate for Nashville to be renewed for another season!
It’s so great to have a show with quality and top talent. Can only hope the network appreciates what it has. Hard to understand how shallow, fluffy shows are renewed and shows with quality are dropped. Doesn’t say much about the viewing public. So hope this one continues for a long time
Absolutely love the show, PLEASE don’ cancel, I look forward every Wednesday night for this.
Love the show and the music please don’t cancel! I can’t wait for more music.
Casting missed the mark, they should have cast a true Nashville talent Lee Roy Parnell in the either love interest role for Rayna, not either of those two guys they got now that can’t hold a candle to Mr. Parnell, either as a vocalist or a guitarists!
As far as Lee Roy Parnell, yes he is a good singer. But, as far acting I don’t think he could cut it!?!! Charles Esten is the BEST PERSON FOR THE JOB AS RAYNAS LOVE AND LUKE AS THE RIVALRY!! You’re the only person to talk trash about DEYNA!!
I’ve never been able to fathom why some shows limp on season after season while other shows get the axe or aren’t really given a chance to find their audience. Some of the best shows start out slow, find their rhythm and then take off. Maybe it’s fervent wishful thinking, but as a 4th season would put Nashville in syndication, the ‘promised land,’ lol, hopefully it will mean another season. In a barren TV landscape of what feels like mostly reality TV shows, paid programming (NOT just during the dead-air hours of 4-5 am), and yet another prosperity televangelist show,… Read more »
Love the show! Please don’t cancel it. Thank you.
