Though it hasn’t been a ratings success, ABC has kept Nashville on the air. Will the numbers continue to fall this season? Is there a chance that it could be cancelled or is it essentially guaranteed to be renewed for a fourth season (because of potential syndication profits)? We’ll have to wait and see.
The Nashville TV show continues to follow the lives and careers of country music superstars Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) and Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton). The rest of the cast includes Clare Bowen, Eric Close, Charles Esten, Sam Palladio, Jonathan Jackson, Chris Carmack, Lennon Stella, Maisy Stella, Will Chase, and Oliver Hudson.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: ABC has renewed Nashville for a fourth season.
Final season averages: 1.34 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.16 million total viewers.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
For comparisons: The second season of Nashville averaged a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.34 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Nashville TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a fourth season?
This is the best show on TV. Why would you even think of cancelling it?
To leave a show with cliffhangers like the ending of season 3 after SO many people faithfully watch the series is like not getting to read the ending of a FANTASTIC book. WHY this show would be cancelled now is beyond me, the story is not done.
Please renew it! Don’t cancel! It’s my favorite show!
Please keep Nashville on the air. It is the only show I look forward to watching. I love the show and am very hopeful that one day Rayna and Deacon will get back together. The chemistry between them is amazing. Definitely a Season 4 coming up in my opinion.
I agree whole hearted. If you cancel this show, you’ll lose a lot of viewer’s
For those of us who work and live in Nashville, it is indeed an honor to have this terrific show depicting the life of Music City. When the cast is seen in public, they are very cordial and willing to talk with those who wish to see them – very unlike LA.
We are very glad the show continues to improve in ratings and are also thankful the city adn state have given them tax breaks to retain this wonderful show.
Many of the cast have now relocated to Nashville.
Nashville has an excellent story line and country music that is high quality and entrancing to viewers. ABC does not seem to push it, with no ads on other nights, and with a schedule of many interruptions each season- awards shows, now we are on hiatus til Feb., and then interruptions over spring break/Easter time. I am on the feed about the show on Facebook and only receive notice of Nashville appearances on other shows after they have appeared, so the timing is not working for cross-selling through GMA and other talk type shows. Everyone I have introduced to it… Read more »

I really hope they don’t cancel Nashville!! I love the show, and I watch it religiously! They need better storylines and more music!! Get some better writers in and take Rayna back to her roots, I don’t like the new Rayna since she’s been with Luke!
I think they should end it with Juliette and Avery ending up together and Scarlett and Gunnar ending up together and maybe Rayna and Decan
I agree with you, all 3 couples should be together
I love this show. I sure hope it isn’t canceled. Getting Rayna and Deacon together will sure help the ratings. I love Rayna and Deacon singing together as well as Scarlett and Gunner. Please don’t cancel this show. Give it at least one more, if not more, season(s).
