It’s official. ABC has announced they’ve cancelled Notorious after one season. Deadline confirmed the cancellation, last night.
The drama revolves around the symbiotic relationship between a charismatic defense attorney (Daniel Sunjata) and a powerhouse TV producer (Piper Perabo) as they attempt to control the media, the justice system, and each other. The cast also includes Kate Jennings Grant, Aimee Teegarden, J. August Richards, Sepideh Moafi, Ryan Guzman, and Kevin Zegers.
While it was never official, Notorious has been considered cancelled for some time. After the series debuted in September, ABC decided to cuts the episode order — not a good sign. Additionally, ratings were never good for the freshman drama.
Over the course of 10 episodes, Notorious averaged .86 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 3.972 million viewers, making it one of ABC’s least-watched and lowest-rated new series for the 2016-2017 season.

I think ABC sucks. WHY DO YOU KEEP CANCELLING THE GOOD SHOWS? Notorious is a great show with a great cast. The story line was really good too. AbC if you arent satisfied with the ratings try slotting the show on another night where there is nothing to watch on tv. There are a few nights that could have used a good drama show like Notorious. You never really gave the show a chance. Bring it back so the viewers who really enjoyed the show can continue watching it.
Agreed most emphatically. Great Show! I watched every episode in one weekend. Cannot believe this was dropped after one Season!!! Characters and all actors are amazing together! Producers, Please bring this show back!!
Oooops, that would be CBS that had the intelligence to move Big Bang Theory, and not NBC. Sorry about getting that incorrect in my previous comment.
CBS not NBC. Both these networks are much better that ABC, who continues to disappoint me.
NBC has a very popular show called The Big Bang Theory. Maybe some of you have heard of it. This show is normally aired on Thursday nights, and has an excellent rating. But…..during the Holiday Season, NBC changes the shows airing from Thursday to Monday, because of the sporting events and other special items aired during the end of the year. So…….if ABC had give NOTORIOUS a different premier night or waiting until January or even Summer to air this WONDERFUL SHOW CALLED NOTRIOUS…….IT WOULD HAVE HAD RATINGS OFF THE ROOF TOPS. NOT FAIR. I am also very disappointed. I do not feel like Notorious ever had a chance. The timing of the new series, along with the Holidays, Sports and Seasonal Events, against the networks time slotting, set it up for failure. I hope Netflix or someone picks up this show. I LOVED IT AND WOULD DEFINATELY KEEP WATCHING

I don’t get it!! I love Piper Peribo!! I loved Notorious!! I loved the character interactions! The 18-49 demographics sucks! Why aren’t the other age categories counted. After all those of us over 49 still watch TV!!
I am Seriously disappointed with the decision to cancel Notorious! What do we have to do start a petition, wage war against ABC shows, you guys are seriously ridiculous, every time we get used to a show you decide to pull it!
I am all done with new ABC shows. For the last few years every time I get into a new show they cancel. Guess I have the worst luck or I have really bad taste in picking new shows.
Nonetheless I’m officially cancelling ABC altogether, Notorious was the last straw. Great chemistry between the cast. Sad it’s gone…

Loved it – why do they insist on pulling shows so soon? Very disappointing.
This was a good show. It has intriguing characters, that begged for further development. Sorry I’ll never get the back story about Megan. I’ll always give something with Piper Perabo in it a close look and a chance.
So shortsighted, typical, never give a show time to develop and gain a following.
