HBO and Alan Ball have enjoyed a lucrative partnership over the years with successful TV series like Six Feet Under and True Blood. Now they’ve introduced his new Here and Now TV show. With Ball’s fan cred and headliners like Tim Robbins and Holly Hunter, will this look at modern life appeal to today’s audience and rack up some good ratings? Will Here and Now be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
An HBO comedy-drama, Here and Now also stars Jerrika Hinton, Daniel Zovatto, Raymond Lee, Sosie Bacon, Andy Bean, Joe Williamson, Peter Macdissi, Avynn Crowder-Jones, Stephanie Arcila, and Erin Carufel. The series centers on a progressive white couple, Greg (Robbins) and Audrey (Hunter), and their multi-ethnic brood, as well as a contemporary Muslim psychiatrist (Macdissi). While they don’t always make the best choices in this world gone mad, they’re all struggling to live authentically in the here and now, because that’s all there is.

I love this show I hope there will be more seasons.
This show is soooooo good. Because it’s about goodness. And it’s riveting. People are t getting splayed with bullets. It’s not gratuitous or violent. It’s about seeking kindness. But not corny. Any the acting is exquisite. I could follow these chrlatxyers for years. There’s so much story to fall. And I trust Alan Ball completely. HBO, make the right decision. We need this heart.
I personally haven’t been as addicted and hooked on a TV show in a very long time. It’s SO IMPORTANT! We’ve seen what happened to SENSE8 on Netflix, which had similar importance… spirituality, acceptance, tolerance, and just all of the ingredients that make it such a must-watch … KEEP IT GOING!!! Can’t wait for Season 2 and more to come!!!

please continue! Unusual story line of diversity and finding ones past roots. I think the actors are performing very well. It is real and sci-fi combined. The fluidity of relationships are great.

There are a lot of social issues crammed into this series, all of which resonate. If the viewer is the age of the parents, it is very interesting to view the generational aspect, and how their experimental family has turned out. The script is definitely trying to cover all the issues and does a good job, given the abbreviated form, I think. Granted, the “supernatural” plot line is weird, but intriguing; I hope the writers know where it is going and this story line can be resolved without just spinning out. The show is fantastic! The acting and writing, fantastic! There is not one person in it that’s weak in their ability to portray their character perfectly!
I hate the idea that it’s ending, and it better come back. I’d love to see it on a reg network only so the world can see it.

Totally enjoying it .. there has been a contraindication or two, but overall it’s very entertaining and we need to find out what the connection is between Ramone and Farid. it’s quite intriguing..

This show is one of the best I have seen for years. It’s a really twisted and interesting plot, that gets you thinking. Really good acting as well. It’s so rare to watch a show, where you get to go really deep into all of the many characters. And there is a lot of those.
I would personally give it a nine out of ten.
Horrendous show. I have watched every episode with my wife and the show is one of the worst shows I have ever watched. Why the producer of this show thinks it’s a good idea to insult half the country is beyond me. This show portrays conservatives as buffons and racists and pretty much guarantees that every conservative will change the channel.
Here’s an idea HBO why not make a show that does not insult half the country and maybe the ratings will be better.
What is it that insults you? That among characters is a homosexual, muslims, a gender fluid young muslim, that the cast is ethnically diverse and those individuals are intelligent and successful,, interacial couplings, that spirituality is the focus rather than religion and MOST IMPORTANTLY TOLERANCE and ACCEPTANCE for people who are different from us . Let me ask you this. Would you watch a series that made liberals look like wimps or racists ? Would you watch it if they made a president who you voted for appear to be a bigot and a buffoon? Would you watch a show who made supporters of a cause you agree with look like idiots and criminals? Remember the pro life guy who argued with 2 of the starts of the show in episode 1. Please renew this show! It’s one of the few shows that make you think. It’s a little on the nose sometimes, but it’s really the only show I watch when it’s live instead of DVR’ing it. Love it!
