TNT has decided not to renew their Proof TV show for a second season. The life-after-death drama has been cancelled after one short season of 10 episodes.
On Proof, Doctor Carolyn “Cat” Tyler (Jennifer Beals) lost her son, saw her marriage end, and became estranged to her teenage daughter. Looking for purpose, Cat is persuaded by cancer-stricken billionaire Ivan Turing (Matthew Modine) to search for evidence that death is not the end and this takes her on a deeply personal and emotional journey. The rest of the cast includes David Sutcliffe, Joe Morton, Edi Gathegi, Caroline Rose Kaplan, Callum Blue, and Annie Thurman.
Debuting in June, Proof got off to a slow start with a 0.37 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.66 million viewers. The numbers didn’t get better as the weeks progressed and were often worse. The season ended up averaging a 0.31 in the demo with 2.12 million viewers. It was one of the lowest-rated scripted shows on the cable channel.

I was very sad to see that “PROOF” was cancelled after only one season. Is there any chance that Season 1 might be issued on DVD? I would be very interested in purchasing it when it becomes available. Thank you.

It was a show that needed more advertising to begin with. If you like Jennifer Beals check out “Taken” on NBC, Mon. @10:00 P.M.
Correction of my last post- it wasn’t about Jesus or had that fake drama = cancelation. Of course it got cancelled……it was about something…….
I absolutely loved the show and was ticked it was cancelled. When there are dumb dumb shows about Marriage Bootcamp, this show was actually about something…. and it was about Jesus or fake drama! That’s why it got cancelled.
I think the show was awesome and I hate the fact that it ended the way it did
Watching the current TV shows is a chore. Repetitive, boring….we gave it up and started to listen to the radio. PROOF was a stand out….why can’t we have more shows like that.
I loved this show it was fascinating and covered a lot of topics that we all have questions about!

Such a same.. A possible second season would definitely score better numbers, S1 stopped at a very critical point for the story`s development. At least release a couple of episodes to end it right.. Please(?)

I really loved this show, it figures it would be cancelled. Seldom watch the liwer channels but never missed this dhow. So much for shows with intelligence.

It should not have been canceled. I really enjoyed that show. So disappointed!
It wasn’t promote as much but once people came across the show it was something to look forward beside the stupid reality shows something new and refreshing. More promotion would off have bring the reatings up.
I am saddened to hear the show has been canceled. My son passed in a car accident and this show actually helped me
