FOX drama Shots Fired won’t have a second season. The series creators have said they weren’t ruling out the possibility of a second season but it seems like there won’t be one.
The 10-part drama explores the tense aftermath of two racially charged shootings in a small North Carolina town. The cast includes Sanaa Lathan, Stephan James, Helen Hunt, Richard Dreyfuss, Will Patton, Aisha Hinds, Conor Leslie, and Stephen Moyer.
Not only was Shots Fired planned as a limited series, but the show’s ratings have been pretty poor. Season one, which wraps next Wednesday night, is averaging a 0.89 rating in the 18-49 demo and 3.56 million viewers. Still, the viewership numbers make the drama FOX‘s seventh most-watched scripted series for the 2016-2017 season.
Earlier, creators Gina Prince-Bythewood and Reggie Rock Bythewood said there’s always a chance for a second season down the line.
Word has been that the series wasn’t going to be coming back. Both a network spokesperson and Prince-Bythewood have confirmed that May 24th’s season finale will also be the show’s series finale.

What do you think? Did you watch Shots Fired? Would you have watched a second season of this FOX series?
please renew the show Shots Fired. It is very good, especially, Sanaa Lathan. It is very entertaining and has one looking forward to the next episode.
This show was and is real. To real. And i loved every second of every episode. And definitely would of loved a season. Im beyond sadden and confused on why it has been cancelled. This show shows and opens our eyes to what is really happening and happen to america. And honestly i think thats why its being cancelled, for its to real and scary for the network. But we need shows exactly like this.
Excellent action packed show. The characters were awesome. What a shame to see a great show be cancelled.

Love Shots Fired!
Love the show!
Shots fired is a good show and has the potential to be a hit. There’s already a very good and well known cast. The insight that brought this show together should be nurtured. The low ratings was a result of almost no advertisement.
I REALLY ENJOYED WATCHING SHOTS FIRED… I NOTICED WHERE PPL WERE TALKING ABOUT THE SHOW ON FB SO MUCH AND HOW THE SHOW WAS AWESOME BUT I NEVER WATCHED IT NOT UNTIL YESTERDAY I WATCHED ALL TEN EPISODES AND I MUST SAY I LOVED IT… I BEGGING FOR A SEASON 2… THEY ALREADY GOT RID OF THE FOLLOWING NOW THIS
I watched the show, first out of interest but ended out of, nothing else to watch(I don’t have cable)and I am glad there won’t be a second season. The story and results, I see them playing out on my local news all to often. Yes it was real, gritty, frustrating and infuriating, all of which I can feel each day watching the news or reading my local newspaper. I watch tv shows for entertainment and a brief distraction from reality. This gave me neither.
I totally agree
My brother and I loved the show hopefully there will be more to come
I enjoyed Shots Fired as it got deeper into the series. When the last show aired, I had to check into the possibility of a second season. I was very disappointed to find out there wouldn’t be one. The more I watched, the more I got hooked. Now I will just have to find a new program to take its place.. With so many good shows ending their long run, it becomes harder to find a captivating show to take their place. Please bring shows the quality of Bones, Rizzoli & Isles, CSI or White Collar to give us the… Read more »
I loved the show. Sorry to see it go. Maybe another network will pick up this treasure.
