The Player won’t be playing for much longer. According to Deadline, NBC has cut down the freshman series’ episode order from 13 to nine.
The action drama, which stars Phillip Winchester and Wesley Snipes, follows a Las Vegas security expert who is drawn into the city of sin’s crime world after an intruder shoots his ex-wife. The series premiered on September 24 to fair ratings, but its viewership has only recently seen an increase.
The Player will air at its regular slot on Thursday at 10 p.m. until the ninth episode airs later this fall.
No official news of a cancellation yet.

I loved The Player. Had right amount of intrigue and axtion. The acting was great. Actors/Actress did great job was believable. Sucks a quality show like that was cancelled. NYC has lesser quality shows still in air

I really like the show The Player, so does the rest of my household. It has just the right amount of drama and action, and great actors to make it NOT boring. What is wrong with NBC they air a good show, then cut it before it has a chance to pull in more viewers. More often then not it is a matter what time a show airs. Love the show, please keep it showing.
If you have to cancel give it closure. I would rather see it playing on NBC. Take a gamble and keep it, it might be worth the time and effort.
Storyline I like, the characters are developing and interesting to watch. PLEASE KEEP THIS SHOW!!!!!
One of the best shows this season. The Player is very complex and fast paced. It actually makes you think. The characters are complex and motivated by increasingly interesting background information. Try a different time slot. Remember lots of shows started off with slow ratings and ended up top shows in the industry. Seinfeld comes to mind.
just started getting interesting. Keeps us guessing and were still wanting to know what happened to the wife. Please continue the show.
Love the show…starts slow and you need to invest in the characters but really strating to roll now…don’t cancel.
